How would this look be achieved?

I saw this GORGEOUS soap in my instagram feed and I’ve been trying to figure out the technique I’m thinking maybe pour part of your batter in the mold, pour in a bit of oil mixed with mica, and then pour more batter on top of it? I wasn’t sure if I should post this here or in the soap pics thread

Making lots of small (2-6oz) batches to test & compare recipes

that stirring shaft sounds really sweet! for my small test batches i use (reuse) the big yogurt containers. i would imagine if you liked eating yougurt and bought the individual serving containers you'd be able to accumulate a bunch fairly quickly. certainly not as quick and easy as solo cups...

    to.Gel or not to Gel...

I always try to force gel I made a couple batches that partially gelled when I just left them sitting out and I hated the ring and the texture it gave them so I do my best to force gel. I insulate my molds and I cover with a heating pad (I also really want more vibrant colors) A batch that...

February SMF Challenge Entry Thread- Soap Stones

I’ve made river stones! These bars are from my first batch of salt bars. I made them in a pvc pipe and I waited way too long to cut them, broken crumbly messes! They were colored with “50 shades” mica from WSP. The batch was split into two, one part was colored a light grey and the smaller...

    Post your Gripe

we're going through a very similar situation now @shunt2011 , merging with a hospital and then splitting from them, being bought by another big company and now being dumped by that company, sold to another. the uncertainty is nerve wracking, i know that feeling , i'm so sorry you're going...

    M&P Breastmilk Soap

Yes @MGM!! Spot on Babies don’t need to be bathed very much, their delicate skin can usually be cleaned up pretty nicely with just water and a gentle rag With the over washing comes slathering them in lotions that are full of stuff she probably doesn’t want her baby’s skin absorbing If...

    Help me with recipe ideas?

if you're looking for a slow-mover, keep in mind that palm will accelerate trace, have you considered lard? if it was me, i'd go get the $10 bucket of 8lbs of lard at walmart, and i'd do something along the lines of 40% OO 40% lard 20% CO for the sake of keeping it simple while you're getting...
