What soapy thing have you done today?

I made a little cookie stamp on my 3D printer and made these gingerbread soaps. I filled the lines with white soap (painted in with a paintbrush). Yours is .68 so it’s a high-ish mid oleic. Might be sold as high...

    Cold pressed oils? Refined butters?

I tend to look for the best prices since I buy in large quantities - I’ve used both refined and unrefined shea butter. The refined shea was much harder, unrefined was more buttery, I liked the unrefined better, but honestly it was just cheaper at the time. Re the cold pressed canola and...

New to coloring bar soap, looking for help

They were made with extruded diamond shapes and little chevron shapes - and then pieced together - the diamonds came with the extruder, the chevron I cut out of a plastic cutting board. The tiny cubes were made by putting three colors at a time through an extruder with a small hexagon. It’s sort...

New to coloring bar soap, looking for help

These soaps are both made with plant colorants - the red is from Himalayan rhubarb with a madder root infusion in the lye water.

SMF October 2024 Challenge - Flannel and Knit

It should be fine - have they been covered? The clay won’t react with the essential oils and the color shouldn’t change. But, the less contact the essential oils have with the air, the better. Look forward to seeing your creation!
