    The Husband Store

That's why they're single....yes, I know a few of those myself, and yes, they have some silly items on their list. I know they think they are important, but there are other things that are far more important. The trick is to know what the really important items are...

    The Husband Store

I do think we agree on what non-negotiables consist of :-) :-). When I think of non-negotiables I mean things that fly in the face of everything a person stands for, and I will qualify this statement by saying that a person really needs to know themselves. For example, having kids- that is...

    Deanna, I have a question...

Lol! One would think the being careful around boiling water is a given, but sadly we have been trained to cater to those who don't use the brains God gave them  I really didn't think you needed the caveat as you seem quite intelligent to me. It was more or less out of the old CYA habit...

How long do your bars last?

With 4 people, 3 of whom shower twice a day, our family goes through a bar a week. We are pretty clean folks over here :-D Cheers! Anna Marie

    Deanna, I have a question...

I wonder if the trimmed parts could be used for laundry soap??? Maybe when they are dry they can be grated up and combined with washing soda and a few drops of essential oil for laundry? On the boiling water tip, I start by pouring a kettle of boiling water over the affected area and go from...

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

Thank you DeeAnna and StarDancer! It is good to get a clearer picture of what's going on backed up with scientific data and credentials. There is so much inaccurate info put on the internet that you really have to filter everything! I appreciate the time both of you gave to answering my query...

    Deanna, I have a question...

Lol! Sorry about the color mix up! And if the bars are huge, well, all the better:-) So glad you're hanging in there with all of us! Cheers! Anna Marie Ps- if you haven't already tried it, some boiling water might take the Amber stains off your cutting board. I use boiling water when my wood...

    Fragrance Oil Usage

I do like BB's fragrance calculator! I think they recommend .7 per pound of soap, but it really depends on the fragrance. This is an area where I really depend on reviews. Cheers! Anna Marie

    I didn't make soap today...

That is totally my line of thinking :-D :-D Something about experimenting in the wee hours- and with a glass of good wine!

    Deanna, I have a question...

So sorry :-( Maybe you can trim the brown stuff off and make mini soaps/guest bars? I don't know what part of the globe you're located, but if you change your mind and want to do a swap go ahead and pm me. I know international rates are so expensive, sigh!

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

Thank you for chiming in! Is there a source that I can read about this further? Cheers! Anna Marie

    Deanna, I have a question...

I may try this at -30 or -35 to see what kind of results I get. I honestly think there is a little wiggle room- just not a lot.

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

I am finding this conversation on citric acid interesting and informational! I recently have begun using Lindy's shampoo bar recipe (soy bean swapped for sunflower because I didn't have soy), and my hair is loving it after several washes. I haven't used citric acid in soap at all, but in doing a...

    oils for scrub

I really like sweet almond myself because it's so light. I make a lovely emulsified scrub with almond oil, sugar, rose clay, and a few other things. My skin always feels nice after using! Cheers! Anna Marie

    Deanna, I have a question...

I wasn't trying to single you out DeeAnna :-) :-). I noticed the string of comments following my post all made the same conclusion, and having read the whole blog post I had a pretty good idea that the author had made soap before :-). In other news, I think I will pull out a bar of the...

    Deanna, I have a question...

To be fair to Teresa, this quote was not presented within its full context and perhaps should be read fully on the blog post first before conclusions are drawn by the masses on this thread :-) If you read the page she does detail some sources for good advice on soap making, and I got the...
