Thanks people! I really appreciate all your comments and points of view. The scent is as fancy as the blue, and I would be doing very small batches. I agree that any major health benefits of this essential oil will mostly be washing off, but the scent and colour are what I am mostly intrigued...
Thanks Zany for paying it forward! I owe a lot of my soaping confidence to your kind words and encouragement. And this recipe is still my favourite! 🧼👑
I need some advice regarding the use of coloured essential oils and their properties in cold/hot process soap.
I am wanting to use Australian Blue Cypress Essential Oil in my next lot of soaps. Can anyone share any experience of using this oil or or other coloured essential oils, please?

Haven't made soap for ages, so I went in and reviewed, edited, and printed my recipes on Soapmaking Friend.
My musings...How easy it all looks on video, but to create an actual formulation that suits your particular style of soapmaking and then achieve a useful manufacture of same...now that's...

Australia has so much diversity in flora and fauna, I am constantly inspired to create soap using the colours and designs of what I experience.
Please feel free to include your Aussie themed pics here too!
Thats ok DeeAnna, I didn't think you were labeling me, I was trying to avoid the type of posts that Relle is referring to below.
I didn't take it that way either, and I am very thankful for the clarification of the rules. Its probably just me, but I get annoyed with "fluff" posts, and get shy...
Welcome Catherine, have you got the stage of having made any soap, or are you in the researching stage? We love soapin' pics too btw, including all the flops or fails, or not quite as expected...we're here to learn and support!❤
Couldn't find if anyone had already mentioned it on this thread yet, but this recipe (the coconut+castor +sodium lactate version) makes a real nice shampoo, I have flakey patches of skin but oily patches as well. I had the least itching and flakes I've had in years!!
Discovered this by finding some old soap making pots and oil/colorant tubs tucked away unwashed...! As I groaned and settled in to scrub off the greasy chrome green containers and spatulas...it was a very pleasant discovery!
I have my @Zany_in_CO 's No Slime Castile (the +coconut+castor+sodium lactate variation) soap scraps next to my kitchen sink and its absolutely fantastic, especially as it gets older. The lather is very thick too. I just scrape my dishbrush on the bar, and scrub the dishes that way.

1. Artemis -- love those little drops
2. Cellador-- I'm so busy... but I have been wanting to try this
3. AMD - my recipe moves far too fast for this, so wish me luck!
4. SoapySuds - I may try this without squeeze bottles!
5. Shunt2011 - Going to try to find time to give it a try. Haven't soaped...
Can I ask why you added the sodium lactate and sodium citrate?
Just hadnt heard of sodium lactate being added to melt and pour, only heard of it being added to cold or hot process to harden the soap faster.
I have used this with excellent results. Add sodium lactate also, and hot processed as well. It can be swirled, or pored into a mould, depending on how far you blend it to trace. All told its my most favourite, most gentle, soap
How to read other soaper makers recipes, and how to put them thru a few of the different soap calcs.
I found the lye concentration section confusing about how to fit a recipe in
