Looks great! My 1st soap was Hp. It looked less intimidating for starting out than CP and less messy.
I'm hooked on Cp now but still do an Hp batch occasionally. I have not been able to make a very pretty Hp batch yet but I do like the rustic look of them also.
Yes the FO seeped out in a few spots on the top. It seeped back in but left the mottled look. Maybe it got a little hot? Not sure.
Thank you everyone for the nice comments!
Eczema is the reason I started soap making also. In the winter my shins would itch so much I would scratch them bloody. Steroid creams helped but I was looking for prevention.
This is my 3rd winter with no eczema on my legs and I'm still amazed by that.
What I didn't realize is what a huge fun...
These are the soaps I made yesterday.
The black tea is my 1st attempt at a peacock swirl which isn't exactly a peacock swirl but overall ok.The tops got a little mottled from FO coming through. It is the first time using anything other than a log mold also and was not sure how to cut these so...
I cut two soaps I made yesterday.
One is an orange/yuzu dropped swirl . I'm happy with the way this one looks and smells.
The other was a black/chai tea and I tried a slab mold and sort of a peacock swirl for the first time. This one turned out ok except it is cut in chunks and they are kind...
I made a tiny batch tonight. 65% lard, 15% OO, 15%CO and 5% castor with carrot, coconut milk, honey , with almond FO. This is the largest % of lard I have ever used in a batch and also the tiniest batch I have ever made.
I just felt like playing.
I am a fan of BB's Lilac and just love Sea Moss though I can't do anything fancy with it.
OOB doesn't really tell you much and everyone's sense of smell is different.
My favorite candle scent my DH just can't stand and I'm only allowed to burn it when he's gone for the day.
I don't sell but give lots away. I love my lard, don't use it in every soap but personally I like it better than my soaps without it.
No one that I give it to seems to have a problem with it but then again, it's free soap.
