    Well, yesterday I added my water to my lye, and got distracted. Some of the lye got dissolved, but there was a huge chunk on the bottom. I put the dissolved lye in a separate bowl and broke up the chunk into smaller chunks and slowly mixed it into the dissolved lye. I thought I had it all...

    Soap issues

    Yes, I'm using water to make the master batch. I'm using a 1:1 ratio, so 12 oz of lye with 12 oz water. My recipe calls for 12 oz lye and 32 ounces of liquid (water or gm). I'm measuring out 24 ounces of the master batch solution and I add 20 ounces of milk to my oils.

    I made my master batch of lye 50/50%. I'm unsure of temperature. I will be adding it to my oils and GM. What temp should my oil/gm mixture be at? Do I keep the lye at room temp? Thank you!!
