    Long lasting bar

You are right! I do use shea and cocoa as well. Have never made a soap with palm so wouldn't know the difference. I'm glad to hear is not always the case because so many soap blogs say you can't make a hard bar without palm or animal fat. I did tests this weekend and will posts results in 6...

    Long lasting bar

Mexico City :) Wow!! Thank you for all this, it really opens things up. I'll ask about use but even in my own shower bars just seam to disappear, I know it's the price to pay for a vegan palm free soap, too. My bars are 100 gr, but they are tall and thin, maybe this is contributing to it? I...

    Long lasting bar

Ugh! I wish it wasn't so expensive here. Now I want it so badly 😂 It is half the price of wheat germ, now that you mention it! Still more expensive than OO and CO but might be worth a try. Didn't know it was a harder oil, thought the opposite. How come? Would you mind explaining the science...

    Long lasting bar

Thank you :) ! I’ll tweak some more and see what I get. I use canola to lower my costs since cocoa and shea are quite expensive but I’ll try bringing it down.

    Long lasting bar

Thank you! I'll look into candelilla wax. Have never used wax in soap before so it'll be a new experiment for me. Thank you DeeAnna! This is so interestig, I have zero experience with waxes. RBO is very very expensive here and I can't seem to find a non gmo soy wax... Feel like I have no...

    Long lasting bar

Thank you for your insight!! RBO is too expensive for it to be an option but maybe I could use candelilla wax, would it work as well as soy? It's so interesting that you mention castor since I erased it from my first recipe because I thought it would have a higher solubility than olive... Does...

    Long lasting bar

Hello! I had some complains about my soaps lasting too little, my recipe then was: OO 40%, CO 25%, canola 20%, cocoa 10% and castor 5% with 6% SF. I’ve been changing it trying to make a better bar but still cant notice any difference! Because of my costumers I’m restricted to vegan palm free...

Soap suddenly shrinking after a year

This was just before covid, the store closed a couple of weeks after I left them there, probably they moved them around carelessly

Soap suddenly shrinking after a year

Hello! This is a soap I made a year ago, it’s a coconut milk soap, has some caolin clay and colored with anatto infusion. I sold this soaps to a store a couple of months ago and they were perfectly fine, they had been curing for over 9 months when I sent them. Now they have developed this...

    Weird white specs

Hi! I made tis soap yesterday and when I cut it it looked like this :s My recipe was: OO - 40% Canola - 20 CO - 20 Cocoa- 10 Shea - 10 It has 3 different colors: beige (pink clay diluted in water), orange (turmeric and rhubarb infusion), dark red (rhubarb powder non diluted). My first...

    Accidentally pink soap

Thanks to everyone :) I strongly think it was something about the CO... I'll be more careful with my suppliers in the future! The lye was not pink, nor the CO, it all turned pink like magic when I combined them. Yesterday I did another batch with the same lye and CO but this time I only used...
