Help! My husband cooked my CPOP!

That would be something I would do even if I was the one who put it in the oven in the first place! I had some porcini mushrooms drying in the oven, and I forgot they were in there and turned it on to bake something and totally burned the mushrooms. I was like, "what's that smell?"

    Good first basic recipe please

There are a lot of palm free recipes out there. Here's one from Lovely Greens: Lye water 63 g Sodium hydroxide 2.22 oz 113 g Distilled water 3.99 oz Solid oils 114 g Coconut oil (refined) 4.01 oz 91 g Shea butter 3.21 oz Liquid oils 227 g Olive oil 8.02 oz (light colored olive oil) 23 g...

    How Much (Quantity)

The calculation for how much essential oils to use is based on the amount of oils in your recipe. Does not matter what kind of oils. I use 5% unless it is noted that it is not safe to use at that rate for a particular essential oil (cinnamon, clove and most "spicy" oils, along with some others.)...

    Gloves?

I use something similar to these. I have small hands and they are not floppy. https://www.amazon.com/Finnhomy-31212-Household-cleaning-Textured/dp/B01A0P4MTY/ref=sr_1_27?_encoding=UTF8&c=ts&dchild=1&keywords=Household+Cleaning+Gloves&qid=1632246325&s=hpc&sr=1-27&ts_id=15342901

What soapy thing have you done today?

“Winter Woods” in the mold. A variation on @Zing’s woodsy blend of EOs: fir needle, cedarwood, peppermint, rosemary, vetiver and just a touch of cinnamon leaf. Colored with spirulina and activated charcoal.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Cut my spicy chai soap. Next up I’m going to make “Winter Woods” I just have to decide on a color scheme (I know it will involve green)

    Shipping Woes

I'm okay with waiting for an order if there is communication about it and I'm not left wondering what the heck is going on. It's also good to know how long things will take so you can plan if you are needing an item for something specific.

    Soap drying tower

That is a great idea! I might have to carve out a little space in our small garage for something like that!

    Less olive oil?

I use it and love it! I also use avocado oil in some of my recipes and love that too!

    Holiday EO Blends (Mommypotomus)

This is great! Thank you Zany! I also found this from EOcalc.com: Top 5 Essential Oil Blends For Fall Gusto – The classic medley of Sweet Orange and Cinnamon! A wonderful favorite for most Fall and Harvest themed soaps and body scrubs, you’ll find this remains a top seller year after year...

    Design ideas?

This is on my list to make this weekend, but I don't have any eucalyptus, so I'm going to use some vetiver instead.

    Hot Stuff!

I love the dark colors of the soap! I have never found any scent to come through with turmeric. I've never used paprika, so I can't comment on that.

    Order/shipment conundrum

Unfortunately we don't get home mail service here where I live, so it's not that simple. They dropped it in a package locker for me and it's considered delivered. I sent a request for a return label, and--no big surprise--I got no response. Guess I'm keeping them?

All you Essential Oil people--holiday blends?

Thank you @Zing ! I knew you had listed this somewhere but I couldn’t find it!

    Puzzled

I have never seen a scrub with petals or botanicals in it. I'm also curious as to what the recipe was.

    Help me decide?

    1. If you are going to do cedarwood EO, I would pair it with another EO (there are some good blends listed on eocalc.com.) I love the idea of the white with brown and green. 2. This sounds amazing 3. This sounds amazing as well, but maybe more suited to valentines day?

All you Essential Oil people--holiday blends?

I've got a couple of blends in mind for some holiday soap. I'm thinking about Fir Needle, Peppermint, Vetiver and a very small amount of Cassia? Cinnamon? Something else? Anyone have any suggestions? I've gone through the blends in EO Calc and haven't really found what I'm looking for.

    Soda ash inside loaf?

As others have already noted—soda ash takes some time to show up, so I don’t think it’s that. It is more of a ghost swirl phenomenon. I would leave it—it looks beautiful and complements the design.
