    What's your favorite soap?

True! Don't we all want and hope for that 🤣 Thank you! That's helpful! So last year for Christmas, I made a basket, with soaps, Lip Balms and lotion bars for my coworkers and friends to choose something. This year for lack of funds and time, I'm trying to narrow it down to probably one soap...

    What's your favorite soap?

Hello 👋 I would really like to know what your favorite soap is. If you'd be kind enough to share. Like if you're going to use one soap for the rest of your life, what soap would it be? Or is it more the oil blends for you? I know just one can be tricky too 😊 So far I love pine tar, and a pink...

    Too little lye

Hi @Calibrate2! Just to confirm, You are making liquid soap, hot process? How much liquid did you already add to the recipe? Could you also share the amount of oils and water to koh % that you used Also how much koh do you still need to add? Potentially if you're making it hot process...I...

    Chefs Quality Pomace Oil

👍 I use whatever I get on sale and never had any problems. Just some olive oils add more green tone to the soap than others. Just wanted to add for you to check the ingredients list to confirm that they only use olive oil or a blend of olive oils, and not different oils blended with olive...

    Got a cloudy lye solution

Sometimes for a wide search it's nice to use Google https://thesoapcoach.co.uk/blogs/on-my-soap-box/can-i-use-any-liquid-other-than-water-in-my-handmade-soap I think we mean overall liquids with sugar in it, like pumpkin puree Yes pure white sugar, I noticed a tiny bit of yellow color to the...

    Got a cloudy lye solution

Yes! You can try that sometime. If what you are going to is has sugar or carbohydrates in it, it can heat up a lot and scorch the solution creating fumes and burning the mix. So a lot of them are frozen or semi frozen before using it to mix with the lye. I started with making a tea with...

    Got a cloudy lye solution

I notice this a few times. I just blend it back together before making the soap. If you want to avoid this you can add to some of the recipe water(it would not be 100% milk anymore) to some lye then you will make sodium/potassium citrate and then cool it a bit add this to the milk to proceed...

    Got a cloudy lye solution

Awesome! Good for you! In my case it was too reduce the fumes. And I'm inpatient 🤣 So the water bath to cool down the lye water a notch as I mix it has been working well for me. So true!! 😂

    Got a cloudy lye solution

What you can do if you don't want your lye solution to get too hot, is to use a water bath. Cold tap water should be enough if you're in Canada. You can leave some ice cube nearby and drop a few ice cubes in your water bath as needed. As you mix your lye you can add and remove your lye...

    Got a cloudy lye solution

Are you using ice or something to keep your lye mix cold during mix? I noticed some Citric acid clumping at the bottom when I do this. Also the Citric acid needs to be completely dissolved before adding the lye solution

    Coconut milk in pine tar?

Hello everyone 🙂 This is my second time making pine tar. I wonder if coconut milk powder would be a nice addition to this type of soap. Just trying to add a little creaminess to it. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 😊
