    My 3rd batch

Wow, that outline is so cool!! I love that you used such simple ingredients to colour it! I'll have to try something like that. I've yet to try a design instead of a solid bar

SMF March 2021 Soap Challenge - Air Blow Technique aka Dutch Pour Technique aka Wind Blow Technique

I know I probably don't meet the requirements, but how do I find if I have 50 posts, so I can enter next month?

    Source for flip top tins

I'm looking for Altoids style tins! I know I could get them off of Amazon.. but my husband wants one to hold guitar picks on his pedal board, so I want to use the excuse to place an order 😬😂 So, does any where sell flip top tins that also sells some kind of preservative so I can get in to...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Ooh, can this be a thing? Can I get my husband to buy me soap supplies for my Soaping Anniversary?! 😄

What went wrong here? Pine tar soap

Thank you! That wooden box is the mold my husband made me, upside down 😄 I added a piece of wood to make the length adjustable.

What went wrong here? Pine tar soap

Thanks for the info! That makes sense, that I lost some colour last time to my other issues. Yes, hearing about the fast trace was what first made me think something was up with my first batch, because it took so long, even with stick blending. The second one I just used a spatula.

What went wrong here? Pine tar soap

I made my second batch last night! I changed the pine tar percentage because I wasn't happy with the colour and scent levels I was aiming for, so unrelated to my fail! 😅 I just have a regular thermometer, so I kept a close eye on it as it was cooling, and I think I started mixing right when...

My first post and recipe! 50% Palm Oil, 45% Olive Pomace, 5% Castor Oil. Would love to get your opinion

Look out! Your first soap can be a gateway drug! It's great fun though 😅 I am pretty new, I've made 4 batches so far, and this forum has been fantastic help. I already have 4 more planned, and a huge order of supplies on the way...

Let's play Good News / Bad News

Good news: my 6 month old learned to crawl Bad news: we live in a barn with lots of non baby friendly areas, and he is way too fast for me 😅

My new favorite (soapy) YouTuber - so relaxing!

Part way down my long and winding pine tar soap rabbit trail, I stumbled upon a gem that led me into the most entertaining and relaxing laundry folding session of my life, as I simultaneously browsed and folded what must have been at least 6 baskets full! If you need a virtual hug today...

    Well that was an ordeal..

Just regular floppy plastic cutting mats?!

What went wrong here? Pine tar soap

Does this look right? After some more research, I wanted to adjust my pine tar to 15% for my second attempt. I plan on soaping at 120 deg if that is warm enough to avoid false trace.

    Well that was an ordeal..

That sounds fascinating!! I definitely want some other option, lining molds is not my forte.

What went wrong here? Pine tar soap

I read though a bunch of your site yesterday before I started! Very helpful Yes, some sort of tunnel in the bottom. It wasn't too cold last night I don't think 🤔 Sadly the liquid leaked out and spilled out everywhere. Yikes, I really messed up! I thought I had switched the lye concentration...

What went wrong here? Pine tar soap

No, I didn't add anything with this being my first attempt. I found this video to be very helpful

What went wrong here? Pine tar soap

Thank you! This forum is seriously so helpful! Ok, I guess I'll just let it cure for a while. I usually soap 15 deg or so hotter, so I'll try again like normal

What went wrong here? Pine tar soap

Thanks @DeeAnna. Can I rebatch this? Or would it be best to start from scratch. All the liquid obviously spilled out, so I guess technically I don't still have all the components it needs? What would be a good temp to avoid this?
  19. Corsara

    Well that was an ordeal..

Just started a new thread to figure out what went wrong with it! After all that, and it didn't even work 🤷‍♀️😅 What went wrong here? Pine tar soap
