Soap favors for my son’s wedding - help me with planning?

Interesting! I have never seen the small ones advertised anywhere. And who among us hasn't purchased a mould that turned out to be completely the wrong size? I've learned that "fondant" in the description/title means ittty bitty ;-)

What soapy thing have you done today?

Didn't make these today (over the Christmas holidays, in fact) but I don't think I ever posted about them. 3 takes on lavender: Brown is lavender + vanilla lace with unknown confetti. Pink is lavender + mint with peppermint confetti. Yellow is lavender + frankincense with Frankincense and Myrrh...

    "Red" you say?

I made a soleseife the other day (recipe below) and split the batch for colours and FO. I used the same moulds, so to differentiate the fragrances, I made one pale pink (Winter Rose mica) and one a more vibrant pink (Cloisonné Red). First of all, the Beach FO accelerated (and riced, too, I...

Soap favors for my son’s wedding - help me with planning?

I have the sunflower mould @Mobjack Bay references, and unless they make one exactly the same but smaller, the soaps are closer to 3, 3.5 oz. I just weighed a few of the ones I made the other day and they range from 99g to 108g.

Face soap ingredients for all skin types

I personally use African black soap and Melaleuca Gold Bar Soap (got it as a gift) on my face. I don't think I've ever used one of my own soaps on my face, possibly because I read this article on Humblebee about how soap damages the acid mantle of facial skin...

    eczema honey

I was going to msg @SideDoorSoaps privately but thought that others might benefit from my story (have told it somewhere on another thread). Long story short: my youngest had eczema almost since birth and I started considering food eliminations by year 2. When visiting my parents and using their...

    eczema honey

I can't see a full ingredient list (I can't tell if there are accordions that my browser doesn't like, or if their website just doesn't work properly). I see "featured" ingredients, but I doubt that's the whole list.... I wonder if whipping like crazy would keep the honey more emulsified. I have...

    Natures Fragrance

I'm trying to remember which ones i thought had a strange tinge...it's hard to know whether it's a plastic smell or that was intentional by the perfumer ;-) Aladdin's Wish is one I used the other day.... reviewers said it smelled expensive and high-end....to me it was fine, but nothing special...

    Beer Soap?

I only soap with leftover beer. There are only a handful over the years that I absolutely would not drink another sip of, and so now I have a good use for them.

    Natures Fragrance

I used Oatmeal Milk & Honey in CP the other day. It's just as disappointing in soap (so far) as OOB....I was hoping for more oatmeal, milk, or honey, but all I get is almond extract :-( Question for you NF users....I find a lot of the NF fragrances smell "plastic-y" or "chemically" to me...

First Attempt at Soap (hot process, well-used fry oil, sour milk)

TBH, I find coffee grounds more abrasive than pumice or sand. They end up being quite scrubby if you use enough. Poppy seeds, too.

    Weighing Issues

No sir, basing a system of measurement on orders of magnitude is not arbitrary. Pecks, bushels, cubits, pints, ounces, miles, pounds, farts, and wheezes are units that have no relationship to each other and really, truly, are the very definition of arbitrary.

Oh Lordy What have I made?

I kind of do the opposite....I use half a can of coconut milk or cream for cooking, then freeze the rest for soap making. Speaking of which, maybe that should be today's soap....another salt soap with coconut oil and coconut cream and a beachy fragrance. Goes well with all the snow outside!!

    Weighing Issues

Not just in soap-making, in EVERYTHING. Baking especially. Also, using metric makes a lot more sense, too. But old habits die hard in some parts of the world...

    Didn’t expect this Soapy transformation

Yeah I don't see how that can be the same bar of soap. I think your friend got confused! Sleuth it out and report back! (both bars are lovely, btw)

NDA Canada has no more minimum order!

LOL but now you *can* go back, any time! No longer need to have a hunno in your pocket. I think NDA is more important for Canadians (or maybe just for Humblebee and Me...and me); we have many fewer suppliers to begin with, much higher shipping rates, and NDA is a star, price-wise. In fact, NDA...

Boo! Wanna see NOW! (can you tell I'm no good at delayed gratification??)

What soapy thing have you done today?

Please report back on how it went, and let us know what's cucumber-y about it. Juice? Fragrance oil? Chunks? Powder? I've only done the FO, but did intend to use the juice once....pureed and strained and froze it, then couldn't identify what it was in the ice cube trays a few months later. It...

NDA Canada has no more minimum order!

I don't yet see it on their website and I don't know if it applies to the US, Australian or UK stores, but NDA Canada no longer has a minimum $100 order! (Got an email about it). TBH, I have usually not had trouble meeting the $100 minimum, to be honest, and I wonder if shipping charges will...
