~ Fragrance Oils vs Essential Oils? (drama)

:-) If anyone is in doubt of my penchant for sarcasm, have a look at this old thread!

    Did my first pencil line!!

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I especially like @TheGecko 's idea re: mixing with oil. I did use a small strainer, but I think I just went over it too many times. Yes, AC is so messy, both in making and using. But such a rich colour! I've still been avoiding the cleanup....can't make anything...

~ Fragrance Oils vs Essential Oils? (drama)

Naw, that can be dismissed by who does the "making", labs or "Nature". Nature doesn't make anything bad or dangerous!

    Did my first pencil line!!

Dude, they are messy! I haven't even gone back to clean up the mould and the counters and the everything with that AC there. I clearly used waay too much...and then spilled a bunch too!

I agree that you need to not engage, esp if your job is one the line. You are NOT going to change her mind because she's brain-washed on the topic and the MLM is her $$$. If she were just a wheatgrass smoothie fanatic but didn't sell wheatgrass smoothies, she wouldn't care as much what you...

    Did my first pencil line!!

Ok ok time for the big reveal. I knew this all along, as I posted after the cut, which is why I praised my soap so much....because I already knew that their heads fell off!!! I probably had read about doing a thin pencil line so that the soap would still stick, but of course it was my first and...

    Bacon Beer Chocolate & Coffee

Wow, very brave to think and plan and dream and then make a sextuple batch! I'm very glad it turned out so nicely! I think it's a bait and switch though....beer, bacon, chocolate and coffee....but it smells like fir, lavender and lemongrass?? Don't get me wrong, that sounds VERY fresh but but...

    Finally using cured soap

Looks like I should have read these positive canola reviews before hitting "purchase" on my most recent NDA order (literally 90 seconds ago)! Got avocado and castor oils and looked at the canola.....mind you, that's really easy to get at the grocery store. So weird with the DOS experiences....I...

    Finally using cured soap

I have never tried canola as I thought it was one that was more prone to rancidity....do ppl recommend it? @Saponificarian I think you might be in southern AB (maybe?), but my mom just drove from Saskatoon to Westlock (NW of Edmonton) this weekend and said that the canola fields were GORGEOUS...

    Did my first pencil line!!

It's Pumpkin Spice from New Directions. Only the top half is fragranced, since it's known to discolour, although I don't see any of that so far (used copper mica in the top half). I made some jack o lanterns with it, too. Never to early to start on fall stuff, I'm thinking...

    Did my first pencil line!!

Look at this beauty! Such lovely contrast too, with the bottom so white! Recipe is 100% lard, but somehow my other lards haven't been that white! Can't wait to cut!

What soapy thing have you done today?

lol no worries @Zany_in_CO. I'm always drooling at the tiny little stamps on packages my MIL or American friends send...even *to* Canada, it's always so cheap! Funniest part is that the friend doesn't even live that far away....well, it's probably an hour and a half drive now, but we used to be...

What soapy thing have you done today?

A friend of mine in another city makes lovely masks (from what I've seen on Facebook) so I offered her some soap in exchange for masks for my family. She messaged to say that she put the 4 masks in the mail today, so I had to pack up the soap. Canada Post is funny about parcel rates, and sending...

    Confetti Soap Ideas

The amount of planing required depends on which mould I'm using...milk cartons require a lot (especially since they're rarely square....) as does my slab mould (cannot figure out how to line that thing well). Loaf mould is great: no planing required. But I do bevel everything.... I find the...

    Coronavirus

Yup, same thing in Ontario. Hundreds of migrant workers who were brought here to do back-breaking agricultural work have caught the virus from Canadians. Many have died. Neither their job nor their living conditions allows them to physically distance; at one point, they were told to keep working...

Close to giving up soap making

I agree that OP needs to clarify if she's messing with M&P or formulating CP for us to really help with the question. But I wanted to pop in to say that, maybe I'm just easy to please, but I like MOST of my soaps for one reason or another. Sometimes I'm extra impressed by a creamy lather (and...

    Confetti Soap Ideas

Who are all these people who need to MAKE scraps in order to make confetti soap?? I have so much from planing and bevelling that I will never ever run out. But I also won't be able to make those fun chunky ones unless I sacrifice an actual bar. I do that more in M&P, which is more forgiving and...
