cupuacu butter in soap and lotion bars?

I've used cupuacu butter in lotion bars, but I can't really tell a difference between it and cocoa butter when used at the same amount in my recipe. I originally tried it out because I wanted more 'upscale/exotic' butters in my lotion bars, but for me cupuacu in this medium just wasn't worth...

PayPal Dispute - I'm stunned! Is This Normal??

*Update* I printed off all of the documentation that I had sent to PayPal and took that and the package to the Police Station to file a report. I was told that this wasn't a police matter and that PayPal should take care of this. One of the officers gave me the same advice as @Professor Bernardo...

    Peppermint Bark Soaps

I agree with @dibbles that without the brown would be acceptable if not preferable. I personally would be more likely to buy a bar without the brown.

    Wholesale Supplies Plus shipping delays

Yep, I placed an order Aug 3rd and they didn't ship it until Aug 19th! AND...it seems that they put a time limit on adding things to your order while it's in 'pending' status to avoid an additional handling fee. I've used the "add to current order" option many times to take advantage of items...

    Straws for hanger swirl

I would imagine you could, but it seems like it would get pretty messy. Plus the size might hinder the ability to get delicate swirls. I used to use just a plain wire clothes hanger until I bought this tool a few years ago...

    Shipping Woes

This may be an all-time low with WSP. Fifteen days since I placed my order and it's still 'pending shipment'. A $50+ order for just 2 items and over 2 weeks later...still pending shipment. Yet when I attempted to add some items from the weekend deals there was no option to add them to the...

    gelling, I don't get it

Gelling isn't really an extra step. I use wooden loaf molds and it's far easier to let the soap gel naturally than to try to ****** it and risk a partial gel. I don't use an oven nor do I use heating pads, and the only times I've had partial gel was when I attempted to NOT gel.

    Grapes in soap

We grow muscadines and I've made soap using the skins for texture/interest. I peel the grapes and then puree the skins adding 1/2 T ppo. This is a CP recipe with a Grape FO and a purple mica. No issues with mold and I still have a bar from the first batch of muscadine soap that I made 8/29/17...

PayPal Dispute - I'm stunned! Is This Normal??

Thanks for the idea! I will absolutely file a report with USPS as well. The last message from the seller was kind of the tipping point for me. I was almost ready to just let it go because it wasn't worth the aggravation, but then they sent me this bonkers email about how my purchase didn't...

PayPal Dispute - I'm stunned! Is This Normal??

Thanks for the replies! I'll file a report with both the local police and the post office. If nothing else, maybe this can save other people from this nonsense. I sent an email to the company the day after I received the package and we went back and forth for maybe 5 days. I filed a dispute...

PayPal Dispute - I'm stunned! Is This Normal??

Backstory: This article kept popping on my FB feed about how a company had reverse engineered a vial of perfume oil found years ago in Egypt and now they've created their own trademarked blend of oils using the components they found with the suggestion that this could be Cleopatra's signature...

    Jumping the line

I have, but it was 5+ years ago when shipping was quite a bit faster. I used to get my orders within a week and line-jumping usually got them to me in about 4 days. It was only worth it if I was working on a deadline and could only get that item from WSP. Now I would imagine it's totally not...

Getting a little tired of WSP 'cancelling' stuff!

@amd - yes, they still do that! I use this option often to combine 'weekend deals' with 'weekly deals' I don't know what's going on with them right now, but it's frustrating to have these random cancellations. I will say that I use PayPal with WSP and the refund is always there within hours...

How much have you spent in a single order?

My most expensive single order was around $650, but my highest expenditure for one day was a little over $900 split between 3 companies. I love your hobbies! They sound like a lot of fun :) And whenever you start to beat yourself up, think of me: I belong to a Mardi Gras Krewe in New Orleans...

Getting a little tired of WSP 'cancelling' stuff!

I've been ordering supplies from WSP for years on a regular basis and this seems to be a new thing with them. You order something that shows as 'in stock' but then they 'cancel' that item and issue a refund after your order has shipped. This has happened with my last 2 orders this month. On the...

    Design ideas?

Maybe a single gold-yellow mica soap with a couple of different texture oatmeal grinds? And maybe some vanilla bean specks or coffee grounds to represent the dirt you always sweep up with the sawdust?

    On the drawing board

With micas you can absolutely do that, but ultramarines need to be prepped in oil first. For my Blueberry soap I use Nurture's Kashmir mica and Winter White mica (which can be subbed for TD) for a 3 color soap. The perfect shades of both dark and light blue. Here are my notes for a 2lb batch...

    Colorant from Amazon?

I've using many micas from many sources over the years. Some morph, some clump, some will absolutely speed up your batter although I've never had one cause seizing. Now I only use Mad Micas and Nurture for micas. The quality is consistent, both have a wide spectrum of colors, the price point is...

    On the drawing board

Which Blueberry FO are you using? I love BB Blueberry Jam because it doesn't discolor, doesn't accelerate, and has a great blueberry scent that doesn't fade! I named it "On Blueberry Hill" and many people (of a certain age) picked it up while singing "I found my thrill..." It's a good seller for...

    Floral inspiration - not 'nana'

I LOVE OT's Peche de Vigne, but I've only used it in lotions. If I recall correctly, Irish Lass mentioned that it was a light scent in CP. BB's Crisp Apple Rose is a very nice floral/fruity scent that sticks well. WSP's Pink Grapefruit FO is very nice as well, but it does fade a bit after 6...
