    Too soft to cut?

Hard to know without your exact recipe but I've had bars that did drags like that. It can create drags in the soap and affect the cosmetics but not the functionality. My guess is that you either didn't gel or had a high superfat. In either case if you feel it's too soft you can leave your soap...

    Lard

This is so good to know! I'm trying to get some tallow from a butcher my extended family uses. I'm pretty sure I'll have to render it. Now I know that it's going to be a outdoor activity!

    Recipe sanity check please!

Your recipe looks good to me. I have a recipe I modified from alioop that uses 60% lard and my family loves it.

    Bergamot Fruit Juice/Peels

It should be fine in soap. Maybe try making a recipe with a high SF. You could replace the water with all of some of the bergamot juice/oil and see how it goes. Let us know what you do and how it goes.

    Bergamot Fruit Juice/Peels

I have no advice unfortunately. I will say that that sounds like an amazing problem to have! My DH loves the scent of bergamot. The only warning I have is that bergamot oil is phototoxic. Meaning if left on your skin and exposed to sun it can cause very quick sunburns or in extreme cases blisters.

I support an SMF conference/meet up! That would be so much fun!
