    Saccharide Isomerate (aka Pentavitin)

Has anyone tried saccharide isomerate in their skincare or lotions? I’m reading a little about it and it sounds intriguing. Like the next generation of hyaluronic acid (which I just recently bought but haven’t tried yet).

    are fragrances just hideously expensive?

I have a bottle of 5x orange EO from Bulk Apothecary that sticks well for me. I blend it with patchouli and ylang ylang (middle/base notes), and soak that blend with some kaolin clay for about an hour prior to making soap with it. I don’t know where it fits within your price range, but here’s...

    Traveling with cp soap

I travel with the slivers that I cut off the ends of soap loaves. I got some plastic travel soap holders at Target. I also keep a couple of those soap lift things in my suitcase, one for the sink and one for the shower. I’m with you, though….i never use hotel soap. (Although I do often take it...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Yesterday I masterbatched. Haha, made you look. 😜 I know, I know, that's the oldest and most tired joke in the (soaping) world, but it lives on in my house, as my fifty-going-on-twelve-year-old husband laughs every time I say "masterbatch." Double entendres then ensue. We are children. But...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I remember using those in the lab back when I first started. They do break easily. We never reused them, just tossed them after one use. With them being so thin at the end, do you ever have trouble with liquids/oils that you're pipetting being too thick?

    Wound care @ home

I have the Manuka honey from Costco. It’s not as “potent” as some of the other stuff you can buy, but that’s what I’ve been using on the scrape on my elbow. Manuka at night, lavender essential oil during the day. In both cases, I apply and then cover with a bandage (don’t rinse off). In six...

    Wound care @ home

I love that an established institution like Mt. Sinai has information on alternative medicine on their site! I already take a zinc supplement every day 😁 If I end up with a scar I’m gonna totally go with that! I didn’t kiss a brick wall, i got into it with an axe! And the axe lost! Yeah...

It’s not large enough to require stitches. It’s just unattractive. 😁

    Wound care @ home

So yesterday, I fell. 😩🙄 I was pretty close to the back door into my house, which is brick. I face planted right into the corner of a brick, and now I have a big gash on my forehead. I’ve also got pretty respectable scrapes on my left knee and elbow, and a couple of bumps. Nothing serious. But...

I need to vent... disclaimer attached

I’m so sorry, @Misschief, for the shock and subsequent pain for your coworker. Reading this post just makes me hurt for those who have been abused, and those who have had to deal with the effects of it. I wish I had pretty words to say, but please know you’re in my prayers.

SAME!! Every time I see it in my cabinet, I say to myself- in Ron Burgundy style, “LAN - Lanolin?” 😂😂

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Today I had to make more cleansing balm because I got my husband to try it and he likes it! (He also is using my retinol night cream.) Plus he needed more sugar scrub. It’s so funny, y’all…..if you knew my husband, he’s such a BOY! Brushing his teeth and showering was about all the self-care he...

    Alkanet root experiment

Such a pretty deep purple! And I’d be thrilled about purple lather too, as long as it’s not staining anything. I haven’t used enough alkanet soap to know if it’ll do that.
