Trying to make bar soap appearance more attractive

It's never worked for me using alcohol and pressing in the buds after the fact. Piping works the same way as you would a cake. Let the soap set up enough that it is still very soft and pliable like icing, then you can use a piping bag on the soap like you would a cake. I suggest you learn more...

Opinions on size for my bath bomb labels?

This is 2x3.5. I was thinking maybe 2" on the long side?

Opinions on size for my bath bomb labels?

I've tried sticking it to the bath bombs. It never works well because there just isn't really space for it. It works better if they are just both on the tag that's tied on. It just seems like the tag size is huge.

Opinions on size for my bath bomb labels?

Currently my sales tags are tied individually to each bath bomb. One side is my logo, the name of the fragrance, and the weight. The other side is the ingredients and warnings. They are 2"x3.5". Frankly, they are about the size of all my bath bombs. I'm feeling they're distracting from the bomb...

    Did I do something wrong?

Just soda ash. It's just an appearance thing. You can steam it off, rub it off with a damp cloth, live with it or, as Ford said, spray rubbing alcohol right after you make it to try to make sure it doesn't form in the first place (it doesn't always work). You can also experiment with the amount...

    Soap wire cutter

For early start, just a cheese cutter will work fine. Provided you don't leave the soap for too long before cutting. Eventually you'll want a single bar cutter and then a multibar cutter. Prices go up as you upgrade so keep that in mind. My single bar cutter was about $100. My multibar cutter...

What kind of seal to use on these?

I found some that are black and clear on Amazon. Debating. I want to see what Ali has first.

What kind of seal to use on these?

So I'm using these for childrens bath powder for Halloween. They hold a little more than 5 oz and are roughly 2" per side of the square at the top. I don't want them covered completely but I need something to hold the lid on tightly when they are moved. I will be putting Halloween duckies on the...

    Aluminum Soap Decorating Tool

Fresh soap yes. But the soap you use to make these forms won't be fresh. It will be at least three days old before it's used. Soap dough has already undergone saponification, it just hasn't hardened.

    Grams vs. Ounces

The reason I say it isn't the cost is because most things need to be labeled in grams and oz anyway. Converting the amounts wouldn't take that much time.

    Grams vs. Ounces

The US is stubborn. They won't switch because they think they're right. And I'm an American. It drives me crazy. I was born in Canada and have dual citizenship. I can tell you from experience, grams is more accurate. The reason is that most scales don't go down that far and it's easy to...

Why do you like making soap?

It's calming and fun. Plus I'm far less itchy with the soap I make than when I use others.

    Worms growing in soap topping

The best way is to go to the Sorcery Soap blog. Also youtube it. There are lots of recipes on how to do it. And don't dismiss videos on things like clay work, they can teach you designs to use with soap dough. I made these with soap dough. And these roses and leaves with soap dough.

What do you think of my Halloween bombs?

Eee I'm so excited. Please excuse the mess. I'm so excited I have to share. I've had alot of my bath stuff not turn out the way I wanted but these are perfect. Powdered bath bomb with bubble bath on top. The eyes are toy eyeball popper. The bubble bath has a bit of candy sprinkles on it for...

    Lip Balm or Lip Gloss?

Thank you. :) lol That's adorable. Probably because I'm now 48 and anyone in their 20's just seems cute these days. Ugg, no wonder my 75 year old dad always calls me kid.

    Lip Balm or Lip Gloss?

Maybe just make the balm more liquid so it would fit in squeeze tubes instead?
