As long as you don't have metals dissolved in your water it should be okay. ( Watch for DOS) Minerals can reduce lather and also create soap scum. Using a chelator like EDTA or Sodium citrate helps with that.

Wine and soap get better with aging/curing. Wine is safe to drink when fermentation is complete. Soap is safe to use when saponification is complete. Neither is a good as it will be after proper aging/curing. I do not confuse drying with curing. There are things going on inside the bars of soap...

76 coconut is the one most commonly found here in the USA. I don't think I have seen the 92 coconut here - I'm sure the suppliers would be more than happy to sell some though.:D In my humble opinion here in the States if it doesn't specifically say it's 92 or fractionated it going to be 76...

As you already know the soft wood ash will not produce KOH. And also the KOH will produce a softer "springey" soap. IMHO

Wood molds tend to insulate better in my experience. Then there's the folding of the liner or the silicone liners that go in to the mold. I don't know that I would sacrifice a bee box for a soap mold though. Then again I haven't had an apiary on the place for several years...

My non-entry. I'm just never sure if I'll get to a challenge. Cut too early and the dots smeared a bit. They are tubes of the same soap recipe made the day before. Unscented for a friend that is sensitive to smells.

When I want to layer a batch I simply use a FO that I know accelerates. Split the batter unscented, add colors. Add fragrance to the layer I'm pouring. Pour it. Wait a few seconds... Repeat for the next layer and so on. It's really just about the timing to get each layer on soon but not too...

Life in the cannery... That was many years ago and I still have problems eating some stew, er, vegetables. Cream style corn and spinach were the worst.... Other processing facilities have their own allowances. Wonder why I grow so much of my own food?
