Thanks! It all makes sense when someone else says it but for the life of me, I'm smart in other areas but math just makes me cry! LOL!!

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Spent the morning watching Ant Man movies and deconstructing a VERY expensive skincare serum I use and will soon run out of and infusing some turmeric oil. Surprisingly I already have most of the ingredients for the serum ;)

Changing color of a beard moisturizer

I’ve got a successful beard moisturizer. Haven’t selected a fragrance. Might keep it fragrance free. But it’s white and I’d like to change the color. Any suggestions on natural ways to add some color?

40x aloe powder. Horrible with math can’t figure out how to use it.

Like the title says, I’m really, really, really horrible with math. And I have 40x aloe vera powder. In order to reconstitute it is it 40 parts of the aloe powder to one part water? Or or 40 parts water to one part aloe powder? Thank you in advance. I always appreciate all the help that I get...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Had the intention of making a large batch of my body butter but got distracted by two new formulations (vit c serum and a beard conditioner) I’d worked out but not put together yet. Now for the testing! The beard conditioner is for my son and nothing is ever right for him on the first go. I’ll...

Calculated mold volume but it made too much

Yep - this does work better. Still ended up with a little too much but I'll just adjust my measurement numbers down a bit and it should work :)

Calculated mold volume but it made too much

You know, I originally tried this for cavity molds. Poured water in one while it's on the scale and multipy by the number of cavities. Didn't work very well. Always ended up with way too much :-(

Calculated mold volume but it made too much

Total batch weight. But I think I have it figured out. I don't work in ounces. Grams are easier for me when weighing but inches are easier when measuring. I watched a Youtube video made by an Australian and she measures in cm. I mixed up inches and cm while measuring so my numbers are all wrong...

Calculated mold volume but it made too much

Calculated what I thought was total volume for a new mold using the following formula. Measured in cm's: 8x5.5x7 Took the total and multiplied by .40 and turned that total into grams. I ended up with too much soap. What went wrong?

What soapy thing have you done today?

I unmolded my first large square mold. 👏🏼👏🏼 Making that much at a time was so exciting and nerve racking at the same time.

What soapy thing have you done today?

The people that are selling the soap are part of a Spanish high end designer. That’s why the high price. If you buy Hermes nail polish, you’ll be spending $57. It’s the label that’s selling at that price. It’s not special. It’s just designer!

What soapy thing have you done today?

Still doesn’t justify that much. But I bet the website was pretty! And it had videos and all kinds of wonderful marketing. And the taxonomy used was very professional. If that’s the case, that would justify the $65 price tag 😱

    Soap too soft

I live in a hard water area as well. No 100%CO for me!!!

What soapy thing have you done today?

I think the phrase “what the buyer will accept” might be apropos? If the site is cool and it’s been celebrity endorsed or some such nonsense, maybe that justifies the price to some people. And most people don’t know what’s in it, or to it. So it’s worth it. I wouldn’t, sell it for that price...
