New soaper in need of encouragement... and advice. Thanks in advance!

Such a shame. I would not give them away as they will only get worse over time. I use up as much as I can of my DOSsy soaps before they get so bad that i can't stand the smell, and then I chuck them out. If they are tolerable (fragrance wise), you could give them to a close friend and say they...

Really Close Pears Soap Copycat Recipe

I made a dupe Pears fragrance wiht EOS of Cedarwood, Rosemary, Pine, Cinnamon and Thyme. I like it - but it is a little strong on the rosemary. I will adjust the percentages next time.

How to add mica color to hot process soap?

You need to use a whole teaspoon PPO to get a stronger colour - and as stated already, use a little liquid oil to mix it first.

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

No but I've been thinking about it. I have some I used to use in my shave soap, but I've stopped making shave soap, so I need to use it up. The blurb here sounds good: https://www.purenature.co.nz/products/camellia-oil-organic?_pos=1&_psq=camel&_ss=e&_v=1.0

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

My pourable recipe has SCI, SLSa, Foaming Apple and DLS. Have started using my latest Red Ginger and Saffron fragranced ones - and boy, do they smell good! They seem to lather better than my last batch, despite the recipe being the same. The only reason i can think of is that I 'cooked' this...

Ut oh!!! I messed up, can it be fixed?

I wouldn’t, because it will end up a super huge batch, and require further calculations. This way you will have a high percentage of OO in your recipe which is not necessarily a bad thing. It’s not the recipe you planned, but it will still be ok.

Ut oh!!! I messed up, can it be fixed?

You will need enough extra lye to saponify the additional olive oil. 956 - 430 = 526g OO. I've never rebatched, but if someone can tell you how to do that, just mix up a further 140g water with 69g lye as per the soap calculator, and then add that to the mixture. You will then have enough lye...

Trouble shooting and improving goat milk soap recipe

I just replace some or all of my water with the oat milk. For example, if you usually use 300g water to mix up your lye solution, you can use 300g oat milk instead. Be aware that oat milk goes very gluggy when mixed with lye - make sure you stir it until it is fully dissolved and be prepared...
