    Some Fragrance trouble/

I wish I could help, but I don't feel confident or comfortable telling anyone how much EO to use, as I have only made a couple batches with EOs or FOs at all. Maybe someone else could give you a better idea than I could. I know that some, like peppermint and eucalyptus are said to be very...

    Some Fragrance trouble/

Not sure where you have come up with 15-20 oz for 5lbs of soap. You want to keep most essential oils about 3% of total oil weight and some such as cinnamon, peppermint, clove down to approx 1%. For 5lbs for my 5lb batches I use approx 2 oz essential, some higher depending on the eo's, but I...

    Rosemary EO and pregnancy

It just seems like so many of them are to be avoided, it might not be worth taking the chances. Geez! It is nice to see some that are safe, but I honestly never would have thought of it and I have lots of kids. It's a wonder any of us made it with all of the things that they say not to do when...

    Rosemary EO and pregnancy

I'm starting to think it is a bad idea to gift any EO soap to anyone with child. Don't know how reliable this site is, but considering they are selling EOs and are not recommending them for pregnant women, I would at least look into it further before giving pregnant women these oils...

    Some Fragrance trouble/

I am super new and probably should't be commenting at all, but 15 - 20oz of EO sounds like an awful lot to me! I have only used scents a couple of times, and .5 oz ppo is about what I do as well. It is my understanding that you shouldn't use more than 3% ppo, but I might have misunderstood...

    Peacock Swirl Fail!

I was the 5 year old who opened their presents at night and rewrapped them by morning because I couldn't wait to see what was under the tree. I am still that five year old in my head. I think the only thing that helps me to not cut too soon is that as long as it is still uncut, it could still...

    Peacock Swirl Fail!

Here is one with them all flat and taken on my patio. Also, for a group of people who do something requiring patience, you guys chanting "Cut it! Cut it!" is not helping me with my lack of patience at all, lol!

    Peacock Swirl Fail!

It is scented with Sweet Pea FO. It smells so good. I don't know how I feel about this batch. I really wanted to get the peacock swirl right, but I don't think I will be trying it again without a slab mold. I will try to take a picture outside later, but it is raining right now. The...

Entering the murky world of EU regulations

This was a big compromise on the city's part. Before allowing a Commissary, you just could not have a home based business at all. But with the invention of the internet, the people threw a fit about wanting to have websites where they could sell things from home, so they come up with this...

Entering the murky world of EU regulations

Ha!! Depending on where you are in the US, it seems. I can't even get into what is required of a soap maker here in the states, or even my state, because unless I can afford to rent somewhere to make soap, I can't own a business from home. Well, I can, but I need permission from the landlord...

Beautiful!! Can't wait to see the inside!

    Peacock Swirl Fail!

HaHa! It's still super soft. probably shouldn't have even come out of the mold yet. Seems like things went really fast this time. I keep going over and looking at it. As soon as I think I can cut it I will and will post a pic.

    Peacock Swirl Fail!

Woot! Looks promising. Still too soft to cut. Will have to wait until tomorrow.

    Peacock Swirl Fail!

Thank you. It looks like it might end up being pretty, but I am not getting my hopes up that it won't be a disaster on the inside. I won't be telling anyone how much of a fail this is, but I also can't lie to my fellow soapers...it may not be a total failure, but this is no peacock swirl.

    Peacock Swirl Fail!

Yes, it is a log mold. As soon as I put the comb thing in there I knew I was in trouble and at that point, I just said screw it and ran the **** thing through all of it and made a huge mess, lol.

    Peacock Swirl Fail!

Considering I have only done one other thing with color before, I will be happy with it no matter what, as long as it all doesn't morph into one color, lol. With me, you never know!

    So proud

Yay for you! I haven't even tried a salt bar because this house is too unpredictable. I would probably have to go on vacation to make them. I don't think there are vacations from your kids tho!

    Peacock Swirl Fail!

Well, this is my second fail, after the partial gel in the first batch. It was supposed to be a peacock swirl in green, white and two shades of pink, but the thing I used to make the lines was too thick, or it took me too long and the better got too thick. It came out very different...

My First TWO Batches Of Soap :D

I never would have tried colors or scents for my first batch because I was so scared. These look great! Especially the one for your husband. I just love that!

    Hypothetical Questions for Sellers

Exactly! I can't imagine getting the run out on a rail reaction to soap made with lard at a place that sells you fresh pork rinds...and by fresh, I mean they are dropping that pig skin in oil right in front of you and you have to wait for them to cool before you can walk off with your bag and...
