Hi, I'm 15 weeks pregnant and I know that the lye can be harmful / not to breath it in. Will I be OK mixing up the batch in the garden if wearing a mask and goggles or shall I get hubby to do this stage just to be safe? :-)

Thank you so much for your help so far. Here's the recipe: Olive Oil - 500g Coconut Oil - 300g Palm Oil - 200g Lye/Sodium Hydroxide/Caustic Soda - 142g Water - 380g / 380ml 30g Fragrance Oil (Optional) Additives such as oatmeal or clay (optional) :-D

The recipe calls for grams but the online stores I've found sell olive oil and fragrance oils in mls so I wasn't sure how many mls I need to order to make sure I have enough... I'm new to this and want to make some soap for xmas pressies :-)
