Recipes for a thicker liquid soap

I do have one more question before I proceed with liquid soap again. I looked at the recipe that you suggested, and I am going to try it. However, I was wondering if it is necessary to use the glycerin to make this soap to the consistency that I want, or is it okay to use water during the...

Recipes for a thicker liquid soap

Thank you so much for your reply. It was very helpful and I will most definitely be more conservative with the water when making my next recipe. I may have added too much water when I didn't think my paste was going to melt all the way. Also, do you think I could add a little bit of paste from...

Recipes for a thicker liquid soap

I made liquid soap recently and it came out rather thin. The fragrance oil thickened it some but not to my liking. Struggling with activated charcoal

I have never had a problem with activated charcoal except when I layered it as you have experienced. I have used it in my goat milk soaps, and my water based soaps dozens of times. My recipe is always predominantly Olive Oil, then Coconut and Palm Oil, with an added soft oil, as well as Castor...

    Bittercreek North Vanilla Stabilizer

I have tried vanilla stabilizer in my cold process recipes. I just don't like the way it processes with the soap. There is something about it that changes the hardness and quality of the soap. I have had terriible luck with it in goat milk soap. I noticed that it doesn't saponify properly. Now I...

When to add fragrance? (Liquid Soap)

I am new to liquid soap making. I added my fragrance oil to my clear liquid soap when it had cooled and it clouded badly. After all that work to make sure it was crystal clear, it clouded up in seconds. I was so disappointed. I checked this forum for answers and found that it is recommended to...

    Scenting liquid soap

Thanks for this bit of advice. I added my fragrance to my soap when it was cooled. It turned cloudy. So I decided to try heating it after the fact. It is now clear, but still warm. I will have to see how it does as it cools. But hopefully it should turn out fine. I will post as to how it goes.
