    Coloring!

I'm using the oxides from Sapphire Blue. So, titanium dioxide will give me soft, pastel colors? Any tips for getting rich, deep color? Just use more colorant?

Thanks, I was shopping for colorants after I posted that, and it did suggest an amount :)

    Coloring!

I haven't really tried coloring with any expected results, I usually just throw some in until I think it looks pretty and then see what happens when it cures. I've been asked to make some rich, fall colors (namely, autumn orange, yellow, green and red) and want to know what % color do you add...

I think it's rebatching... but I have questions!

I've been asked to prepare wedding favors for an upcoming wedding. I want to make a big batch of soap, and then split it up so I can make small samples of different scent/color combinations. If I make a big batch of my regular base soap, can I melt down and color/scent small batches of it...

How do you set your own wage?

Thanks for responding, this thread was dead for a couple weeks. But yeah, you answered what I wanted to know, which was basically what part I should keep for myself, and what part should go back into it.

    Facebook Page

I've just created a Facebook page for my soap. I'm hoping that maybe everyone could go check it out and perhaps "Like" it (well, if you like it!)? I believe that after 25 likes, I will get a simplified URL for it, and I'd really like to get the visibility out there as well. I don't know...

May I ask what the purpose of stearic acid is?

How do I get my soap out of the tupperware?

I haven't tried tupperware, but I got a loaf stuck in a wooden mold once by using a bad liner choice. I ended up freezing it, and then turning it upside down and hitting the bottom several times with a mallet. Hope it helps!

    Hard Plastic Molds

The molds were from mold market, and it said they were suitable for cold process, but I had my doubts. Alas! I have used them. Ungreased, and popped in the freezer an hour prior to unmolding. It was a bit tricky at first, but once I got the hang of it they popped right out!

    Hard Plastic Molds

I bit the bullet and tried them out. To avoid complete disappointment, I made a 3 pound batch instead of the regular 2 pound, so I have my usual log mold as well as the hard plastic one. I can't wait to unmold them tomorrow! I hate waiting :P

    Hard Plastic Molds

Can I use hard, plastic molds for CP? I normally use a wooden loaf mold lined with parchment paper. Do you need to line/grease the plastic molds?

This seems like such a lame question

I usually use parchment paper, but I tried wax paper on my most recent batch. Big mistake! I had to freeze it and hit it on the bottom of the mold to get it out... I had already tried sliding a knife around the edge, so my sides were a bit rough looking and I had to trim them off. I estimate I...
