    New soap out tonight

Thank you for your compliments! Lime-e-ness has mellowed a lot but still very dominant. Some sugary sweet notes are coming out but I couldn't honestly say it's "coconut", just sweet. And the verbena? My nose doesn't really pick that up but others say it's there. And just a heads up: The...

    Cutting Garden/Sweet Cakes

This is a play off of Sonoma Valley perfume. My relative wore this perfume until it was discontinued She said it is very very similar to the real thing. I can't comment on this since I've never smelled the perfume. My impression and my nose smells black licorice and flowers. Kinda a weird combo...

My CP soap - picture is worth thousand words ...

Gorgeous! I love the colors and the design! I can't answer any of your questions but I can say that if your additives are bleeding out it just builds character and uniqueness to this batch. Like I said I love it.

That's what I was kinda thinking too. I'll have to play around with the numbers tomorrow :) BTW, thanks again for your help. Soaps in mold now, looks good. I'll let you know how everything comes out later. Maybe if I get an energy boost I'll figure out how to get some pictures of it up. lol

    Calling all experts!!

I am wondering if there is a straight forward way to create a recipe with only the quantity of lye on hand. For example, I have 7.3 ounces of lye left over. I need how much oils I have in hand?? Is there a formula? Or is it a plug in and play with numbers kinda game?

I need a recipe with some left over oils. Any ideas?

Best of luck to you in the job hunt :) I'll send good mojo your way!! Would you plug in minus the lard? This batch is for my cousin and when I think about it..she may be a little freaked out if I tell her it's made with **Lard** I actually like it in my soaps but that's just me. You can see...

I need a recipe with some left over oils. Any ideas?

Thanks for getting back to me Ian. This is a hard group to break into, no? lol. I'm weighing out in ounces, sorry for the lack of info on that. I have been searching for a well balanced bar and this is the closest I've been able to come up with so far. I picked up some non hydrogenated...

Going through my soaping cabinet I've found some left over oils and wondering if anyone has a good recipe. Here is what I have: Pomace Olive Coconut Soy Castor a tiny bit of Hazelnut Lard I've ran these through soapcal but can't seem to come up with a great bar of soap. Any ideas...

I've used as little as .5 of an ounce per lb of oils with good success.

    sweetcakes tahitian vanilla

This sounds a lot like what I experienced with Pink Sugar from Peak. I'm just curious, did you use an ultramarine colorant? Also I would just like to ask you all, if your soap comes out unpleasantly scented, is there any way to reclaim it? At the moment I have 18 bars I can't stand. Ugh.

    Flashpoint and seizing soap

To me it seems I've had seizing with lower flash points than with higher ones. Just a personal observation.

Pink Sugar (Peak) gots me the blues

Thanks for writing. It is bouncing back a little with more cure time although it still isn't what I'm sure it's suppose to be. Do you know a good supplier for palm? I can not for the life of me find it locally (Whole Foods, Vitamin Cottage ect) I like peaks fo's too. This one has me baffled..
