    I have a question about the stick blenders. From what I can tell they all have metal blades on them but we are not supposed to use any metal or any kind with the CP soaps.... I just bought myself a stick blender and got to thinking about this. I normally stirred by hand...*lots of stirring*...

    Too much lye?

    I'm new to soap making. I made two batches and they seem to have turned out ok. On the one batch, however, it hardened up faster and I notice a white powdery coating on the finished product. The other batch had just a little powdering. Does this mean I used too much lye?
