Where did my bath cookies go wrong?

Thanks for the replies! To be honest I thought they would fizz - a bit like slow bath bombs :? but they just sink! :( Well, at least I didn't waste any expensive ingredients :)

Where did my bath cookies go wrong?

I found this recipe on Fresholi's web site and I thought I'd try it out. 500g Fine sea salt 100g Bicarbonate of Soda 70g Cornflour 20mls Light oil ( eg Sunflower oil) 2 eggs 8-10 drops of EO/FO I did exactly what it says, but when I put them in the bath they just sank to the bottom...

How do you stop the colour from running??

I've made some little love heart soaps and coloured them with blue cosmetic grade colouring. I've noticed though that the colour runs out the soap and onto the side of the sink. It doeasn't affect the performance of the soap in any way, but it looks really messy. I would like to give these...

    Cupcake soap

They look totally amazing!!!!!!!! Do you have any problems with the whipped top seperating from the base when you use them? I've made little cupcakes before with whipped soap on top, but when I used them they seperated. Would love to know if there's something I can do to stop this from...

    Soap Suppliers Black Soap Dye.

You could try adding activated charcoal. It works in CP soaps to give a nice black colour, so it could be worth trying. :)

Do you need to line your mold for MP?

I use a silicone log mold for my MP soaps but it bows out at the sides which gives me an odd shaped soap, so I was thinking about using my wooden log mold. However, I'm assuming that I would need to line it to stop the soap from sticking to it, but I'd just like to check to make sure :) Thanks

How can you refine unrefined coconut oil?

I found a local source of coconut oil, but it's unrefined and in liquid form. The CO I usually have delivered is refined and in solid form, so I was just wondering - can I still use the unrefined liquid CO and still get the same results from my soap or do I have to refine it myself?

    Q. about coconut oil

If it's solid you have to heat it up till it gets to liquid so you can mix it with the other oils and the lye. hth :)

    Anybody ever hear of this????

The laws in the UK are far more strict!! The new bill that no-one wants brought in in the US is pretty much how it is over here. Every variation on every product has to have a safety assessment done - no excuses! Every ingredient must be listed with it's latin name etc,etc...

When do you add the salt in salt bars??

Thanks - I can't wait to try again!! Will the finished bars look any different from normal CP?? So far mine look ok too, but I'm not sure I can class it as a salt bar

When do you add the salt in salt bars??

I tried making a batch last night - it was 32oz altogether so I measured out 16oz of salt. I tried to add it at light trace, but I only got a very small amount of salt in before it wouldn't dissolve any more. It was all lying at the bottom of the pot so I didn't add any more in case I ruined...
