What soapy thing have you done today?

I hung up a second soap rack and cut my first soap I made with an Oregon companies fragrance. I found them while doing my oil scouting. Finally got to test the fragrance I picked up @ Shay and company Really great selection and customer service. Their fragrance bottle for "Brazilian Mango" was...

ENTRY THREAD for SMF June 2023 Challenge: Layers!

I love all of these soaps! (I'm still figuring out how to work the like vs love buttons on my phone, but I love them all!)) I have that same maple leaf column mold I purchased for my fall soaps, and have been thinking of colors that say "fall" without the resemblance/association to Canada...

Adding Castor Oil at end of Hot process soap as superfat ?

I tend to do 5percent castor oil as part of my oil blend in all of my soap recipes. That's how I use it.

Lye Beads Floating in "finished" soap

Time and patience is the best advice. I've had soap look and behave completely different two weeks after making. Can't wait to hear the update on it

Same on Soap & Clay. Deeply value her info she has shared, but moved on to soapers with a different vibe. More relaxing, less talk.

    Melting BTMS

I'm not super microwave savvy, but you can't go wrong with frequent, Short burst in micro, stir, nuke and repeat quick bursts. It takes patience to make it, I only use a double boiler set up.

What soapy thing have you done today?

My struggle with scent has been cost and amount. I live rural and so I didn't want to make solely boutique priced soap and price people out. I want to make something very affordable, a go to quality soap for the locals. After markets and what sold vs didn't, and getting everyone's opinion...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Hi all 😀 I should probably properly introduce myself, I will find that thread soon. Today I ordered fragrance oils from a new supplier. Fragrance has been my struggle lately. I'm trying to find ones that make me feel good about the final product. The other soapy thing I am doing tonight is...

    Lemongrass Coconut Conditioner Bar

I hadn't even heard of cranberry oil until this thread. Learned something 😊

    Lemongrass Coconut Conditioner Bar

I think you're asking to replace an oil with an essential oil in this recipe? No, that would not work from what I know. My "rule" is to replace like with like when doing an experiment. An essential oil has completely different attributes than a soft oil as far as I know. I speak humbly, cause I...

    Lemongrass Coconut Conditioner Bar

I was reading on her cranberry seed oil spray recipe - that she recommends a light, liquid oil with a good fragrance to sub the cranberry seed oil with. She recommended plum, in that recipe. The conditioner bar recipe looks great, but I've not had expected results any time I've replaced a soft...
