    Ah well, not made hp before, plus i have cured them all now, i will use these myself, and for clothes washing. I have six more batches curing and they are all fine. I did a fo for the cinnamon and orange, but it is not the same.

    I bought a orange and cinnamon fo after three major fails, its come out ok. I was starting to worry that i had lost my mojo, made some patchouli as well, need to get a move on though, not long to go.

I only use about 5 teaspoons of eo in each batch, i hold the scent with a teaspoon of liquid benzoin, that,s included with the essential oils, so if i put in 4 teaspoons of lavender then one of benzoin...

    I am so far behind, i have made three batches or orange and cinnamon, but each batch went to trace too quickly, so they are usable but ugly to give away. I am going to have to think of something else.

    What inspired you to start soap making?

    I had sore skin from using a twintub washing machine many years ago, so using shop bought soap made my hands worse, I used to make candles, so it was the next move, i bought a book and have not looked back since.

    I stir soap, i think its best with a slotted spoon, but i hope to by a stick blender when i have the money. I have used a wooden spoon but the soap has been grainy and have had too much ash on top. Thanks to this forum i now know if you want to stir by hand then a stainless steel slotted spoon...

    Thank you Hazel, thank you so much for your reply's, i thought the spoon thing was a problem ! I only make very small 2lb batches, ingredients are so expensive these days. Anyway i will take your advice and get a stainless steel spoon and a stick blender, again thank you. :D
