    My Scale!! It Came!!!

Thanks!!! I just finished pouring it into the molds and now begins the waiting :) It smells sooooo good! I added lemon 5 fold, sweet orange, lavender, and anise star EO's. I hope the soap retains the smell :)

Hehe, I will definitely post pics! The soap won't be pretty, as I'm not adding colorants or anything like that, but hopefully it'll be soap! haha

Re: x Thanks SO much! Good thing you posted this too lol, otherwise I was going to use 30% coconut, 40% palm and 30% shea butter, which might be greasy do you think? I will definitely measure the lye in grams :) The scale I got is sooo cute! I got it from Brambleberry (Their $20 one)...

Soap Making Resource Wooden Soap Molds

Thanks for the info! I actually already bought a 3 pound mold from the site that I had posted about earlier. I'm definitely going to take a look at these ones though, as I'll most likely need a bigger one soon anyway :)

Unfortunately I don't know anybody who could make me one. The hubby is useless when it comes to tools lol. I'm good with tools, but don't have any :(

Soap Making Resource Wooden Soap Molds

Hi! I am looking to buy a wood soap mold that is inexpensive, and I came across the ones at this site: http://www.soap-making-resource.com/woo ... molds.html I was wondering if any of you have tried these soap molds before, and if you have been happy with them. I think it's really cool...

    Tallow Bad for Skin?

You're right, I wasn't implying that using it was wrong at all. I really want to use it, but reading something that said it would block my pores just made me want to check with you guys to see if you have had the same experiences with it. I probably wouldn't have been so worried if my skin...

    Tallow Bad for Skin?

Thanks! This is helpful. What do you usually mix it with?

    Tallow Bad for Skin?

I love to eat meat, it's my favorite of all food groups so making soap with it seems logical to me too. I must not live in a granola area because so far everyone I have asked have told me that they would love soap made from tallow. I do think it is great when all parts of the animal get used so...

    Tallow Bad for Skin?

Thanks! I had no idea she was a vegetarian, but I can see how that could make her view on animal products as jaded. Based on what everyone else in this thread has said about tallow, I am going to try it. I'm going to try and get some sheep fat or cow fat from a local butcher and render it...

    Tallow Bad for Skin?

So I got this book called The Soapmakers Companion. I was reading up on tallow, and the author talks about how it may be bad for your skin by clogging pores and causing acne and stuff. Before I decide to use it to make soap, I wanted to know what your experiences have been with tallow, and...

Searching for cigar band template. Can anyone help?

Another option would be to use photoshop. you could either make and print directly from within photoshop by creating an image file that is the same size as the paper you are printing on, or you could create an image for just a single label, and then copy paste it as many times as you can fit on...

    I'm excited!

I feel your pain! I have all the supplies I need to make my first batch of soap... except for the digital scale. It's being shipped from the US and I have no idea when it's getting here. I get more excited every single day, and I'm getting more and more agitated each day! Grrr!

    The Free Grocery Program Works!

This looks like spam to me. This person joined today, and this is their first post? A long sales script for a company that offers referral bonuses. Also, on the site, the BBB seal should be an active link, and it is not.

    Soy Butter?

The site I bought it from says it can be used in soap up to 20%, but so far I can't find anything that says how well it works when added in soap. Maybe I'll just have to try it and see how it goes.

    Soy Butter?

I'm not sure if it's hydrogenated soy or not, I'll post the link of where I bought it from. It just says soy butter. Thanks for the tip on making a balm! Is a body butter the same thing? Is there any type of moisturizer that I could make that doesn't use beeswax...
