Okay so I'm about to make my second ever batch of soap! I'm going to do: Coconut Oil 20% Lard 40% Olive Oil 10% Safflower Oil 10% Sunflower Oil 10% Shea Butter 10% I'm doing 6% superfat and adding honey, oatmeal and grapeseed oil at trace. What do you think? Does it look like it...

Yep :) I'll probably try it but if I get DOS(I'm learning so many new acronyms lately) then it's game over for the canola oil! lol

Oh, ew! Well I don't want that. Luckily it wasn't expensive, so if that happens to me it won't be as big a loss. I can always use it for cooking!

What's DOS mean? lol. No Sam's club here, are they even in Canada? I just got 1L and it was $8!

Bananas? Really? How would you use them? Just mash them up and add them at trace? I love almonds, but I want to be able to give some of my soap to my Mom to try out. Avocado, I'm allergic to. If I eat guacamole I swell up like a balloon and get itchy hives.

Only 3 weeks? Man, I haven't been grocery shopping in two months. Not because I hate it, but more because of money issues. At least we ended up eating all the food stored in the freezer! lol. Lots more room now :)

Hehehe. I can get quite frustrated going grocery shopping during the day. Too many people clogging up the aisles makes me nuts, so we usually go at night. Luckily, our grocery store is open until 11pm each day, which rocks.

LOL does he whine in the grocery store too? Mine does! "Why does it take so long to find meat!!!" or "Just pick one and lets go!"

Hahaha you're sneaky! So far the boyfriend doesn't care what I buy for all of my hobbies. I used to regularly buy $100 worth of yarn every month! Sometimes more lol.

I haven't used lemongrass yet, but if it smells anything like lemon, I'll love it! I'm seriously a lemon nut. I loooove the taste and smell of lemon, so I often use it for cooking and cleaning. Now I'll use it for soaping too!

Awesome thanks! Too bad it doesn't leave a scent. The awesome smell of coffee in the shower would sure help wake you up in the morning :)

Re: x Thanks for the tip! I'll have to try that one. I'm also going to try lemongrass. i've heard good things about it helping to anchor the lemon scent for a lot longer too :) Great tip on the lavandin too, I'll search it out!

Vitamine E capsules? good thinking! Definitely picking up some freezer paper to line the shelves where I'll be curing my soap (and for my wood mold when it gets here) I really hope I can find grapeseed oil there! I have read that it's good for acne... which I most certainly have.

LOL the hardest part will be remembering the groceries. You can get coconut oil at the grocery store? SWEET DEAL! No avocado oil for me, I'm allergic to it... yikes! I love the idea of ground coffee beans! Does it make the soap smell like coffee? That would be awesome. Love the idea of...
