    5lb Nurture Soap Mold

I have a homemade mold. In the soapmaking friend calculator, I entered the dimensions and let it calculate for me. It was pretty much spot on!

What soapy thing have you done today?

I'm catching up after having family here and being away from the forums for a bit, so if this is answered further down, I'll delete my post after I find it. What do you mean with the 1:10?

What soapy thing have you done today?

Keep in mind I’ve only used it once, and I used a slab mold. It’s a little fiddly getting the wire into even slots when you have to put the bar under the base. For a shorter soap, I can see not putting the bar underneath and probably easier to line up. I may sharpie every 4th line to make that...

I got my Caterpillar! And I still managed to cut some bars wrong :p

    Selling Soap_making money

Here in California, it went from $12 to $15. The jugs are still marked $12 in store, but $15 on the website. When I went in store to buy it, it rang up $15 but since they are still marked $12, that's what I got them for, plus I used a 20% off coupon. I figured I'd better stock up before they...

    Nurture Soap Shipping Protection Bogus?

I noticed that today too. Isn’t your product covered by the shipper anyway? I guess it wouldn’t be for badly packed products. It kind of turned me off to be honest.

Good-bye dear Guy At the End of the Bar

I am so sorry for your loss. We said goodbye to our precious pup 3 years ago and it is one of the hardest things ever. Trevor sounds like he was a wonderful pupper ❤️

What soapy thing have you done today?

I found the source of water that was appearing when making lotion bars. I transferred it to a water bottle and plan to poke a hole in the bottom to drain the water out, then will put the oil back in its original bottle

SMF March 2022 Challenge - Column Pour Technique

I had 2 fails to begin with but I'm going to show them anyway. I'm going to start making some small test batches of soap to figure out colors. I'm trying to keep away from micas and use infused oils but my colors are way too light so far. I need to figure out just how much I can use to get good...

Entry Thread for the March 2022 SMF Challenge - Column Pour

I’m almost embarrassed to post mine after seeing all those! This was my third attempt. I used the bottom of a soda bottle and turned it part way through pouring. I do want to explore this more in the future, though I think I will swirl less and use better colors.

Which would you choose: slab mold & cutter, or slab with dividers

I did, and since they hadn’t started my order yet I was able to change it. Yay!

Which would you choose: slab mold & cutter, or slab with dividers

Oh, I didn't think about that. Now I'm wondering if I should have gone with the Hercules instead. @rdc1978 Pretty! Glad you were able to come out with something you liked.

Which would you choose: slab mold & cutter, or slab with dividers

Thank you for your reply. That cinched the deal for me and I got the splitter ordered. I'm not concerned about the beveler part as I already ordered the planer/beveler from Custom Soap Stamps, though I do think I'll try both and see which one I like better as far as beveling goes. Thanks again!

Which would you choose: slab mold & cutter, or slab with dividers

Some of you have been making soap for a really long time so looking back, which would you choose? A slab mold with a separate log splitter, or a slab mold with dividers? Here's what I'm looking at: this log splitter Multi-position Soap log splitter and soap beveler and this mold (or similar) 4...

SMF March 2022 Challenge - Column Pour Technique

Oh boy, talk about adventures in soap making. I was really clumsy this morning. Dropped my jar of infused oil and it went EVERYWHERE! Some splashed into one of the other colors. Most of it went on the floor and fridge. I also managed to drop and destroy my temp reader, and will have to replace...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I sold some of my previous hobby equipment and the money is burning a hole in my pocket, so I ordered a planer/beveler. Next up, slab mold and log splitter.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I spent hours reading up on planers, bevelers, and log splitters, and still don’t know which to get 😆

    A win for me

I decided to make 4 separate batches due to the infused oils. Indigo (pale blue/grey) and Himalayan Rhubard (pink) infused olive oils, activated charcoal (dark grey), and zinc oxide (white). I went easy on the colors this round and will use more for future batches. I’m really bad at taking...
