    Coffe soap question

So I did end up making my coffe soap last weekend, and everything went perfectly, however, I wasnt thrilled with the scent. It just smelled like chocolate dirt... I didnt use any EOs, just the brewed coffe and a hanfull of used grounds from the espresso machine at work. I kinda wish I made a...

    Introduction and QUESTIONS!

Good to see you. Welcome from southern Illinois. I havent found any brick and mortar stores around me that sell anything more than MP supplies. There are a couple of local alternative shops that sell EOs, but they are about 75% more expensive than I can find them at bulkapothacary.com or...

    Shaving soap help

I'll be waiting to see responses as I am planning to make my own shave soap to replace Col. Conk (love it) but it will need a rich long lasting lather.

    Curing process

It doesn't sound like temperature is your problem, rather humidity. You could try keeping your soaps in a room with a dehumidifier.

    1st four batches ever!!

Those look great! Love the scent combos. What is tobacco juice? As a former user of chewing tobacco, the image in my head isn't a good one. How did you use the bay leaves?

    what if I did this?

I made my first batch ever last weekend (HP), and I am looking to make another this weekend. My question is, do I have to cook it in the crock for 3 hours like it says in my book, or can I just cook it until it is neutral (took about 30 min last time), then transfer it to a mold, and oven bake...

    Coffe soap question

I know coffee is more acidic than water, so if you substitute strong coffee in your lye solution, do you need to add and more lye?

    recipe help!

I'm new myself, but when I put that recipe in to my soap calc on iPhone, it gave me 2.88oz lye when i figured for the lard it gave me 3.03 for lye. My understanding is that if your recipe is lye heavy, it can make for a more crumbly and harsh soap.
