Tried this approach yesterday and it worked well. The only downside was that the lye solution heated back up to 200 degrees once additional water was added. thank you for your response. What temperature are your fats at when you soap?

Thank you for responding. I added the extra water to the lye solution and threw in some silk to see what would happen. The lye solution reheated up to almost 200 degrees and the silk looks like it mostly dissolved. Good that it dissolved, not good that the solution heated up so high. I’ll have...

That may just be it! Gel phase. Since it’s gotten a bit colder out, I did cover the soaps with a lid and a blanket. I didn’t cover with a blanket before. As far as a reformulation, no it is the same as always. Thank you for replying :)

Hi all, Just bought this coconut oil (picked it up so I didn’t hand pick it myself) and would like your thoughts as to whether it’s any good? Smells fine. Top was almost gooey, the rest looks normal but from the side, something’s up. Expiration not till 2025. Thanks for your input!

Will this work with Fragrance Oils as well? Is the castor taken from the batch oils or is it considered to be part of the super fat? Thanks to all!
