Enlighten me!

I’ve soaped for 10 years, but never done a HP batch and mostly only CP GM at that. What am I missing out on? I’m genuinely interested!

Haha, I've been soaping for 5 years and have only made one CP batch. I do HP because I like adding additives after the soap has fully cooked. Sadly, the soaps are not as pretty as CP, but that's the only downside that I see.

Although I do almost all CP now, I only did HP for the first 5 or 6 years that I soaped. It is fun to have finished soap at the end of the project, and also nice to be able to use FOs that are too naughty for CP.

But I really like not having to babysit the soap during the cook, or deal with the heavy crock pot insert. When I do HP now, I just use a stainless pot right on the stove - not even a bain-marie.
