Colorants in sugar scrubs?

i'm currently making sugar scrubs for a project and i was wanting to know which is better? micas, or food coloring ?
I've been doing some research as well and its split.

My vote is for mica. I don't like food coloring because it can stain towels and skin.

Micas is what I vote for and use.
I assume you mean sugar scrub for body, but if you ever venture into lip scrub territory, ensure your micas are lip safe - not all of them are.
