I have read about lye pockets a few times on here and I'm assuming that they are small areas of the soap where there is some lye lurking but that it isn't in the whole bar iykwim. So my question is, is a zap test an appropriate test for lye pockets? would it be possible to zap test and assume safety only to then use the soap and find lye pockets beneath the surface? I realise this is potentially a daft question but I'm a newbie and I just zap tested my first batch yesterday, all of which was ok but I'm a worrier, so started thinking 'what if that bit is safe but there are bits which aren't'. Like I say I'm a worrier but I'm hoping this soap / lye anxiety decreases with experience

Lye pockets are really, really obvious as they literally are holes in the soap with liquid in the them that zaps like the very devil himself. Soap with them really is not usable. I know some people try to rebatch it but I simply dispose of it...
