Up until yesterday, all of my batches were scented with EOs, except for the one unscented batch. I've been reading all of the posts here and on the soap scent review board forum, and the temptation proved to be too much.

Last night I made a smallish batch of goat milk, honey, and oats and scented it with the Soap Silly OMH from Day-Star. That was also my first batch poured into vinyl downspouting as a mold. I saw pics someone posted of soap molded in downspouting, and it was so pretty that I had to try it.

This afternoon, I made a batch with a FO I got from a local supplier, it's called Creme Cafe, and the description says, "Rich coffee notes mingle among sugary caramel, whipped cream, lightly spiced with a dash of nutmeg and a generous dose of vanilla". Oh lord, it smells good, I kept that bottle on my desk and kept popping the lid off to let some of the smell out. I made an attempt to get artsy with that one, pulled out a cup of it before adding the FO and then used that to add a light "froth" on top of the darker soap, sort of swirled it around in an attempt to duplicate the way the tops of the frou-frou coffee drinks look. We shall see how that turns out, lol.

Now I have a bottle of Salty Sailor and a bottle of Paradise left, both from Day-Star, and they're taunting me. I can already tell that I'm going to be placing more FO orders very soon, lol.

Welcome to a new FO HO!!!

I love my unscented and EO scented soaps, but FOs are just something else again  So far some faves of mine are Sweecakes Clean, BBs Baby Rose, Turkish Mocha, Sweetpea, Fresh Mango, & Kumquat (and the list goes on!)

Tanya :)

Yup - another one bites the dust....I started out as a purist - I wouldn't even add EO - I wanted all my soaps to be scented by the additives, coffee, honey, spices, etc. - well I - uhmmmm ---- hmmm - how do I say this - okay I'm just going to come right out and say - I love FO's and can't live without them and I'm not sure how many I have.....okay so I have more than one addiction now..... :?

topcat, I love kumquat also, sold all of them!

I love FO's too! I started out with mainly FO's as they are a little cheaper than most EO's.

I started out only making EO soaps....but I'm a goner now! I have so many FO's and having even tried all of them yet and continue to order more.

I have 3 five foot long shelves that each have 16oz bottles lined up 4 deep times length. I still keep ordering :?

I'm feeling the strong tidal pull of the FO's...

I use EOs almost exclusively, but there are a few scents that I just don't think I can make with EOs and additives (ocean, green tea, cooling cucumber). I've spent much of the day browsing the forum reading all about everyone's faves (esp. for ocean and green tea), and I'm still trying to resist because I know it will just open a HUGE doorway that I'm already feeling overwhelmed about walking through. It seems like I could spend so much money on sampling fragrances to find ones that I like, and I'm just not at a place yet with my business that I can afford to do that. More than that, though, I'm overwhelmed by the number of choices and suppliers!

Sigh. I don't think I'm going to last long. I need to get some Wheat Germ oil from WSP, and I have a feeling I'm going to try one of their ocean FOs since I'll be placing an order anyway. And maybe their green tea & cucumber FO. Any feedback on their ocean and/or green tea scents?

I couldn't stop the tide. I ordered Green Tea & cucumber, ocean rain, and sweet honeysuckle FOs from WSP yesterday. I'm dying to sniff them!
