Ok yall CP Gurus. I've never had this happen but have read threads about it. I have an oil slick at the bottom o my soap on the paper. My dumb self tried zap testing it and it didn't zap. the oil is slightly scented so is this just a bit of maybe extra superfats or something from my colors I mixed or heck if I know? I'm freaking out. It turned out looking neat at least. It hardened up correctly. I actually have to hurry up and cut it with the cutter my honey made me to cut this soap with the embeds that are too close.

Looks like it's coming from your bottom layer. Perhaps too much fragrance or more oil than you thought you added. Could be that the blue layer is a barrier or repellent of sorts. What are your frags and colorants, and what rates did you use?

Bottom line, if the loaf has solidified good and the seep doesn't zap, I would just continue the celebration of another cool soap.

WE WANT CUT PICS!

Thanks Carabou. I'll post cut pics on the other thread. I don't know how to delete this thread. Mods may do so if wanted.

Nobody's gonna want it Canadawn because it uses a buncha oils etc lol. I'll have to look at my paper tomorrow. Guess I didn't save it. It's in my soaping room and I'm not leaving my bed for the night <3 Only had about 20 mins sleep since night before last. Been a rough one. Thanks for yall's support. Here's the link to the other thread: http://www.soapmakingforum.com/showthread.php?t=48591

I meant they would need to see it to help with troubleshooting.

Agreed. Anytime you have an issue or problem with your soap, please post recipe and entire process so the pros can help. It's easier to diagnose an issue when there's a full picture

It is hard to gauge how much oil is there, if it is just an oily layer on the bottom it should get absorbed back into the soap. I think your soap will be fine, just let it sit for a day or two, even if the sliced soap is slightly oily, just leave it be. It is an amazing sea scape!

Can you post more pics? I am not sure what I am looking at because of the picture. I am sure it will be fine. The oils a lot of times reabsorb. :)

Edit... I found the pics on other post. Looks great! You did a beautiful job!!!
