I bought wintergreen a year ago and never used it.Of course, I read up on it after the purchase.
Is anybody using it in products, since it can be toxic or bad for people with salicylic allergies?

I bought sweet birch early in my soaping career and haven't used it much for the same reasons. Not worth the risk.

Wintergreen has good Qualities as well. Analgesic , anti inflammatory , anti rheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic , diuretic, and warming. Common uses: arthritic pain, bone pain, cartilage injury, dandruff, joint and muscle pain. Some ever use it for skin problems. Avoid if pregnant, or people with epilepsy. As well as mentioned methyl salicylate allergies.

At least that what my aroma therapy book has to say!
