wine soap recipe?

Does anyone have a nice red wine soap recipe? I can't seem to find one....

on the same note, does anyone know if you can have a nice wine soap without an FO? I haven't found an FO that I like yet for a dark wine.

For both of you, I made a batch of Cabernet soap that I LOVE and don't ever want to sell

I did a basic soap recipe (white type but any would work)..

The day before I took 2/3 of a bottle of wine and simmered it until it reduced to VERY little and it was thick (it was about 2TBS worth in the end). It was super concentrated, and imparted tons of color to the soap.

I froze that 2TBS of concentrate and the next day made the regular soap.

I used a Cabernet FO from LeCrissa's

and I did a swirl. Pulled out part and added the wine concentrate to the swirl part and it was DEEPLY colored.

It's cured great, it smells great, and I LOVE it.

oh, add the wine at trace... I always think of using the liquid with the lye. I may have to try this.

you incorporated the wine concentrate at trace in a frozen state, or did you defrost first? if you didn't use an FO do you think the wine would have contributed any scent?

No I didn't defrost it - even after at least 24hrs (maybe more..) in the freezer it was slushy, not like frozen.

I scented the whole batch with the FO, separated half out at light trace and added the concentrate to one half of it and used it for a swirl.

I was amazed at how dark the color was, it's a rich chestnutty-mahogany brown and just gorgeous.

I think without the FO there would probably be a little scent but likely pretty faint. The FO really "bolsters" the wine concentrate and makes it stick. I'm about to order more of the FO so I can do another batch.

I did take pics today in the studio, I'll get them up ASAP!

I love the Cabernet FO! I used it in a soap that doesn't have any wine and oh is the scent fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!

I do want to make some wine soap soon.....
