Wine in bath bombs

Hello! Please, please, please can anyone tell me if real wine can be used in bath bombs and bath salts to scent them naturally? Thank you so much for any advice you're willing to share!

I would imagine adding wine to bath bombs or salts would be a lot like adding water to them - not good. You could try using wine powder (dehydrated wine) but either way, you're not going to get the scent you're looking for.

There are some FOs that are wine scents. I've never tried them so I can't tell you on how they smell. I have used the Strawberries and Champagne FO from another site and I do like this scent in soap.

You might try using organic fragrance powders to scent them naturally (beyond essential oils) ... I have not ordered from this company, but I had their info. in my file ... www.naturesflavors.com ... although the powders are going to have some color to them.

If you have a garden, you might try making an infusion with flower petals and a carrier oil ... that may be worth a try, although I'm not sure how strong the scent would be.

If you should order any powders, I'd love to hear how it turned out!

Like others have mentioned, wine will not scent your bombs. I have tried the berry wine FO from Bramble Berry. It is nice but I found it to have a bit of chocolately aroma if you are into that!

Thank you all so much for your words of wisdom! I've read that some wineries in California are using their own wine to put into bath products and thought it sounded like a really natural and healthy idea. Guess not!

Wine is a liquid. It can replace liquids in some bath products that require liquids to be added. Bath bombs are dry & bath salts are dry. See the problem?

Yea, agreed! The absolute miniscule amounts of liquid these products can hold is not going to give you jack when it comes to scent.

As others suggested, you can add a wine F.O., but my experience with wine scents is that they just smell like grape candy (which I really don't like). I've tried 3 or 4 (cant' remember the whole list right now), and have not had any luck, but I will have to try the Cabernet from NG, like someone mentioned.

i second liking Nature's Garden Cabernet FO -- smells more like the real thing than anything else i've smelled.
