over another? Why do you choose a pigment/oxide over a mica, or vice versa? Are some easier to mix than others? Are some colors more opaque than others?

I was happy with micas from NurtureSoap, until I needed to find Christmas colors to match some fo's I have. TKB comes highly recommended so I checked out their site....big mistake....so much to choose from!
Help me narrow down my choices...pigments over oxides? Micas over pigments???

Depending on how they are used, some colorants are better suited for CP than others. Oxides give a good color, but micas may not show up very well unless they are used a specific way. I only have experience with a black oxide sample from WSP so I can't say for sure.

Soap making resource and WSP both have some info on how to use the colorants. The latter gives info for each type of colorant on the page.

The few liquid neons I've used were very difficult to incorporate into the soap. I've used two oxides from bb that had great reviews, but I found the colors to be muddy in soap. Haven't found a NurtureSoap mica yet that I don't like. Unfortunately right now they are out of a lot of colors.

I too recommend Nurture Soap Supplies. I have a lot of her colorants and am extremely pleased with their performance in my CP. I also use oxides and ultramarines. I do have some CP safe liquids but don't often use those too much. TKB Trading has some really nice colors too.

I prefer micas overall. It may because I end up overusing oxides and then they turn the lather colors, so my lack of finesse may be limiting me. Some of the neons bleed over time so it depends on if that is an asset in your design or not. I think every type of colorants has its place so limiting yourself to just one doesn't seem necessary, esp as you can usually get various types from your regular soaping suppliers.
