Soooo the goat milk soap that I made the other day (and put outside to prevent gel) needs rebatching.

It set up fine, and the zap is gone now, but I guess I didn't blend the goat milk in enough when I added it at trace and now there are swirls of goat milk through the soap. It's not a huge deal, but I think it might look a LITTLE better if I rebatch it.

How soon can I rebatch it? Right away? Or should I let it cure first? Also, there's about 1/8" of ash on top (more than usual...) Should I cut this off before rebatching the soap, or leave it on?

Thanks!

You can rebatch any time after you've poured the soap. The longer you wait the more moisture you have to add back in to account for what has evaporated.
Since you just made this you shouldn't have to add any liquid to the rebatch unless you took a huge water discount.
Not sure on the ash, but me personally, I would leave it in and just incorporated it into the rebatch...

Yeah you don't need to add any liquid just chop or grate and cook it up again. Check out my blog below there is a tutorial on my rebatching technique with pictures.
