I received an answer to a post regarding the dos on my natural gm cp soap made with wheatgerm oil and evening primrose oil, and a whole lot of other base oils.
Someone suggested it could be because the wheatgerm oil had expired and caused the soap to go rancid.
I can't find any expiry date on the wheatgerm oil, but i know i bought it no longer than 3 months ago. any ideas as to how long unrefined wheatgerm oil lasts? it doesn't smell funny to me, just smells how i think wheatgerm oil would smell. if it was rancid, would it definitely smell bad?
I didn't think it needed to be kept in the fridge or anything, and i thought being a natural source of vitamin E, that it would be fine.
any thoughts on wheatgerm oil much appreciated, as well as any other info on what oils might go rancid faster. i currently keep my flaxseed and evening primrose oil in the fridge, but thats all.
