I was given a small amount of jojoba oil (4 ounces) and used it at 7% in a 8% super fat soap recipe along with shea, avocado, castor and the holy trinity. It was pretty much one of my staple recipes just worked around to keep the same % of the other oils but accommodate the new addition

Honestly i didn't notice any real difference in the soap at all. It traced the same, was the same hardness, didnt bubble any more, didnt feel any creamier.

I wound up just using what had left to rub on my hands and feet (very small amount) and that did make my skin feel pretty soft.

If i made lotions or body butters i think i would want to see it in those more than soap

Honestly my opinion is that it is great for label appeal, so I might add a touch, but other than that.... no I wouldn't waste it in soap. Great in lotions, body butters and body oils (massage oils).

I like jojoba in soap sometimes, but I don't always use it. I am pretty happy with my three or four standard recipes.

I have completely stopped using the more expensive oils and butters in soaps. I like the lard, olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil soaps too much, and found no benefit whatsoever to adding the other ingredients.

Lip balm, on the other hand, benefits greatly from shea, jojoba, lanolin, avacado, etc.

I use jojoba in my sugar scrub, it's very quick to soak in and soften that it's a necessary ingredient for me. I've tried using it in soap, couldn't find any reason to do it again though
