One of our clients gave us a little christmas gift... It says translated from German Bath Bar (as in candy bar bar)
Here are the ingredients...

Shea
Kakao butter
Baking Soda
Cornstarch
Citric Acid
Essential Oils

How would you mix those together? It was quite nice and didn't leave much of a residue like all the bath bombs I have made do...

Any ideas?

I would call it a bath melt since it has butters in it. Is this the order of how the ingredients were listed on the label?

Perhaps it was made with water soluble shea which would help with not leaving oiliness in the tub. I've never used cocoa butter in bombs so I'm not sure how much oiliness it would leave behind.

To make a bath melt, you'd mix the baking soda, cornstarch and citric acid just like if you were doing a regular bomb and then use the melted oils to hold it together.

I can look up a recipe if you want one.

I have found a couple of recipes.. Not like that one though... I was surprised how much I liked it.

Yes... That's the order they were listed in.

I will have to do some looking here... The lady that made it is from here too

I don't know where you'd get it in Germany. I know the Chemistry Store carries it.

You could try using Polysorbate 20 to make the butters water soluble. I'll have to look through my notes - I might be thinking of Polysorbate 80.

I wondered about the order because it would seem to be a large amount of butter in the melt. I'm going to have to look through my notes and see what I wrote about the percentages of butters.
