Hi all, i am new to soaping and I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue I'm experiencing with my soaps.

In the recipe that i was experimenting with, i used extra virgin coconut oil that has a saturated fat content of 2grams. The soap was made and unmolded the following day, it seemed fine. I tested its lathering quality and that too seemed fine. Right now it's two weeks into its four week cure time and I've noticed a couple of white circles on the bar of soap. I'm not certain why this is. I've attached a photo highlighting the white circles that appeared on the soap.

Could it be because the coconut oil saturated fat content was too low or could there be another reason for this happening???

What did you color your soap with? Did you add fragrance? It looks like something didn't get mixed in well enough or it's fading. Since you're new to the forum, please go to the introduction forum and tell us a bit about yourself. Welcome!!!!

Thanks for your input and thanks for welcoming me.
I did not color the soap or add any fragrance as I'm experimenting. What i did, however, was add some orange soap shavings as confetti.

Can you give us the recipe you used and how you made it? Most of the time it's not the ingredients, but the process, that produces unexpected results.
Without knowing what oils and/or fats you used, whether you used room temperature lye and oils, or you made sure to keep them within a certain temperature range; or if you used CP, HP, HPOP, or some other way to create your soaps, there's no way to really help you.
And one other question. Did you use an immersion blender to bring your lye water and oils/fats to trace, or some other way?
Which soap or lye calculator did you use?
A question like yours, without more detail, is almost impossible to answer. But with more detail, will bring you lots of help!
Good luck!!
