Hi. In my Essentials Depot sampler back, I received argan oil and glycerin. What can you do with these? I mainly make cold process soap, and I've just started making lotion bars and lip balm. I'm open to making new items with these two things.

When I hear "argan oil" I immediately think "hair shine". Put 1-2 drops in your palms and work it through your hair after you shampoo and rinse, while the hair is still damp. Treat the ends first then work it through the rest of the hair. Use a wide-tooth comb or finger comb to distribute it evenly. You can apply to dry hair as well to control frizzies and flyaways. Lovely stuff.

Argan Oil is exceptionally rich in natural Vitamin E, Omega-9, Omega-6, phenols, phenolic acid, carotenes, squalene, and essential fatty acids. Using the oil for hair: Omega-9 is found in Argan Oil and has shown to help with strengthening, and to achieve overall healthy hair. Argan Oil is non-greasy, non-oily, and has become popular as a hair treatment to repair and heal damaged hair. It has the ability to naturally hydrate and to help stop frizziness, fly-away, and hard to control, unmanageable hair. It is excellent for locking in moisture and improving shine and luster. Argan Oil has been shown to penetrate the hair shaft and almost instantly improves follicle elasticity, and increases nourishment.

I tried putting argan oil into my hair this weekend. It was super sticky, like castor oil. It made my hair super greasy. So I'm thinking it should be mixed with some other oils for some sort of hair serum.
I've never tried making liquid soap, so I can look into that.

I believe that if you are applying argan directly to the hair, it's more of a wash-off hair mask than leave-on. If you want to use it as a leave-on product, you'd probably have to dilute it and add some emulsifiers.

You can apply argan or any other oil directly to hair, you just need to use a small amount. I always apply oil to damp hair 3-4 drops is enough for my thick curly hair, most goes on the drier ends. If you have straight or thin hair 1-2 drops is probably enough.

If your hair looks greasy or sticky, you used way too much. Another thing you can do is mix a few drops in your conditioner, a bit easier to get it distributed throughout the hair.

Argan oil is great as a face moisturizer or in a facial serum. It has a low probability of causing break-outs and is reported to have repairing benefits.

I use a little bit of glycerin in a homemade Vitamin C serum.
