fractionated is just that - the oil is separated into different "fractions" and the stearic (I believe) and perhaps other components are removed. FCO stays liquid whereas regular coconut will solidify if cool (depending on which you get it's either at 76 or 92 degrees F)

I have not used CO and FCO in a body butter, so I can not answer from experience. It seems as though the FCO may produce a "lighter" end product. Here is one list of oil properties that might help: http://aussiesoapsupplies.com.au/Oil-Pr ... -p-21.html They also have a great recipe section.

I'm almost positive, but since it's been mentioned I may as well ask so I am positive. The LouAnn brand coconut oil that is sold at Walmart - it's just plain old 76 degree coconut oil, right?
