Recipe I found for lotion bars-

2oz beeswax
2oz cocoa butter
2 oz shea butter

I haven't tried it yet. Waiting for my order to come in.

What's your favorite recipe?

You may find that too thick. Sub one of the butters for an oil... my favorites in lotion bars are almond, jojoba, apricot - but that's just my tastes.. the great thing about lotion bars is you can make small batches to test, and if you don't like it, just remelt and tweak your recipe.

I don't like shea in solid lotion or lip balms etc. It always always goes grainy for me.
I like some liquid oils as well.
Macadamia, jojoba or the likes.

I like to use Tamanu oil (I know, it's expensive) and I add a little EO - depending on use/properties.

If it's too hard, re-melt and add more oil
If it's too soft, add more bees wax

I love a combo of:

1/2 part Candelilla Wax
1 part Kokum Butter
1 part Shea BUtter
1 part Oil (Avocado, Olive, Sesame, FCO or combo - whatever I'm in the mood for)

Nice and glidy!

Thanks for the comments. I still don't have any beeswax yet, but, I may have found a local source :)

I made a small batch of lotion bars today to see how I would like it... I LOVE it!!! Can't wait to do some more testing...

Even my 15 year old daughter said ohhhhh Mom, I like it! :D
